Re: New Girl - "Keaton" - 10/22/13
BTW, after getting caught up via Netflix and the Fox website, this is the first episode I've watched via recording it on TiVo. I wound up getting the last minute of Brooklyn 99 and losing the last minute of New Girl (my DVR cut off right after Schmidt revealed that he was living in the haunted loft). So ... is that normal for this show (i.e. should I be padding my TiVo on this one)?

And I don't know who deserves the "fuck you" -- Fox or TiVO -- but if Mindy Project doesn't start until 31 past the hour, don't tell me it starts at 30 past the hour.

It's always late for me too with Cox cable, so it's definitely Fox. I tend to start all my recordings 1-2 early and end them 1-2 minutes late to be careful. I know BB Theory ALWAYS starts 1-2 full minutes ahead of time for me as well.

I'm ok with stuff running a minute long, but put that information into the programming guide. I mean, I just set my DVR to rcord Colbert. It told me Colbert is going to start at 10:31. Not a problem -- if Comedy Central wants to give that extra minute to the Daily Show, that's fine with me, as long as my DVR knows about it and can account for it.

Haven't laughed this much at this show in a while. Great episode.

I might be alone here, but I didn't care much for Coach at all in this episode. It felt like his presence was pretty typical sitcom stuff, including the whole broke up with the girlfriend and whipped things.

Re: New Girl - "Coach" - 11/5/13
New Girl has given Coach an extension.
Damon Wayans Jr., whose four-episode comeback arc kicked off Tuesday, has closed a deal to stick around for the remainder of the Fox’s comedy’s third season, TVLine has learned.
Technically speaking, Wayans will continue to be billed as a “special guest star.”

Nice Coach being on the rest of the season.
Hell, what else is Damon Wayans Jr. have planned anyways. Might as well have a paycheck coming in the rest of the season.

Damon Wayans, Jr. might be kicking himself for leaving New Girl for Happy Endings even though I loved Happy Endings too bad it didn't last.

He didn't have a choice. He already had a contract on Happy Endings but was expecting it to be cancelled. When it got a surprise renewal, he had to go back.

New Girl will obviously last longer, but it's not like he left for a 13 episode one and done.

New Girl - "Menus" 11/12/13
An overabundance of Chinese food take-out menus left at the loft's front door is the catalyst for an interconnected series of adventures for Jess and the guys in the all-new "Menus" episode of NEW GIRL airing Tuesday, Nov. 12 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (NG-308) (TV-14 D, L)
