I hope so, cause those rumors are terrible.

To be perfectly honest, the rumored plot for the last episode makes complete sense and would be on par for what has been the quality of the season. Keep in mind that it was leaked before this past episode and it predicted that Deb would be shot. I'd be pleasantly shocked if it was completely wrong and they managed to give us a satisfying conclusion but I would bet against it.

What is the rumored ending? You can spoilerize it.

Here's the basic synopsis based off of what I remember: Do not click if you don't want to potentially ruin the ending.

Spoiler:
The basics: Elway being at the airport prevents Dexter from leaving. He looks at his phone and sees that Quinn called him a bunch of times. Quinn tells him that Deb's been shot. He goes to the hospital and Elway shows up, they have a confrontation. Quinn takes him aside and they talk alone. Quinn reveals that he's known for awhile that Dexter's a killer but he hasn't said anything because Dexter saved him in the past. Dexter tells Quinn that he's lost the urge to kill and that he's leaving the country with Hannah. Quinn says that he will capture Saxon and kill him. Dexter tells Quinn where he might find him. Quinn tells dexter to hide Hannah and Harrison in his apartment until they can leave. Dexter leaves to do that comes back to the hospital and Deb needs surgery. Quinn finds Saxon and uses Dexter's syringe to knock him out. Quinn takes him to Saxon's hideout and straps him to the chair. Supposedly, there is a back and forth between deb's surgery and Quinn killing saxon with Dexter's knives. Deb dies on the operating table. Quinn arrives and Dexter tells him she's dead. Quinn tells dexter that he saw Elway a couple blocks back and that he will help them escape. They go to dexter's boat, set it on fire and let it go. Quinn tells them to take his car and he'll tell the authorities that he saw the three of them get on the boat. Dexter thanks him. The end.

Again, this could be completely false but it makes sense.

I read that too and here's why I'm not so sure that's how it plays out:

Spoiler:
In the preview after last week's episode they showed a bunch of stuff that isn't mentioned in the finale spoilers. Most importantly, they showed Dexter talking to Deb while she was on the gurney at the crime scene.

On the other hand, everything in the spoilers seems to 'fit' with where they are in the story. And it sounds terrible.

Forgetting:

Spoiler:
Dexter, Hannah, Harrison live happily ever after in Argentina. Fade to black. Fade back in, it shows Quinn in his car stalking someone. He looks down at his set of knives, his M99, and says "tonight's the night" cut to black.

I know a show is bad when I actually don't have a problem reading the finale spoiler - especially with it being so close to airing.

If that spoiler is accurate, it'd be a pretty lame way to end this series - but consistent with how the show been the last few seasons.

Actually:

Spoiler:
It's Hannah who jabs Elway with the needle while riding on the bus. In one of the promo clips of the hand on the knee - it's hers. So that rules that part of the Quinn "spoiler" out.

That's what I said to the wife as we watched: "Aren't there roads leading out of Florida? I lived there for a time and seem to recall a few."

Could you point me to which promo clip you are talking about? I've only seen the main promo and it goes by so fast that I thought it could be
Spoiler:
Quinn jabbing Saxon in the knee
which is one detail from the spoiler that I didn't mention.

My spoilers contain possible plot points mentioned above so don't click if you don't want to read spoilers.
Spoiler:
Wait what? If this is true Quinn is suddenly turning into a killer now? Seems like a really weird twist to take. I wouldn't mind Quinn revealing to Dexter that he's figured out his secret and stuff like that but if it actually goes the route of him taking Dexter's place it would be pretty laughable if you ask me. That ending with the boat being set on fire by Quinn and him saying that supposedly Dexter, Hannah, and Harrison being on it and perished would be kind of lame too.

Honestly I haven't even watched this episode yet. I'm so disappointed with the way this season has went I just don't even care and it's sad because this Sunday is the finale and I really don't even care that it's over at this point. I'll watch the episodes and probably buy the Blu-ray set when it's out just to complete the series but this show should have went out so much better than it has.

Really interested to read Clyde Phillips' AMA and find out how he would have handled the final seasons. It's a shame that he ever stepped down from the show.

He didn't outright say that the show went to shit in that AMA because he was being professional, but I think you can tell he really doesn't care for a lot of what's happened on the show since he left and knows that a bunch of people are disappointed in how it turned out compared to the first four seasons. I understand why he left after reading it and it's cool that he put his family first for his own good but damn do I wish that we would have been able to see the direction the show would have taken if he would have stayed around.

Agreed. The show just kept chugging along, but I found a lot to like about seasons 5 and 6. It was the last two I found a bit strange, though I liked Hannah a lot last season and am glad she returned. The Vogel character was intetesting. The problem I have at times with the show are pointless subplots with the supporting cast. Masuka having a daughter? Who cares. Why waste time with that in the last season?

A trusted reviewer on IMDB (who has given everyone "previews" of each episode for the last 4 seasons) got to see the finale last night and he states that ALL the rumored finales floating around the internet are false. While he normally gives little spoilers for each show - he wouldn't for the finale. But he didn't give it high marks.

I guess it's all going to be a surprise then!

Spoiler:
I'm guessing it ends with Dexter on his boat out in the water with the hurricane coming in and you are led to believe he might have died in the hurricane, but it's left open-ended so he could still be alive.
