Don't get me wrong, I don't think Walt is a good guy. I'm not sure any of the main characters on the show are good other than Walt's kids.

But among all of the assholes on Breaking Bad, I'm on team Walt.

Are those props verified? Tuco's grill is on there, and Dean Norris said he had that.

Wow. Is the studio hard up for $ or something? Seems like every prop that has ever been in the show is being auctioned off... mostly junk, and the prices are ridiculous.

The only thing worse than saying Walt is a good guy, is loving Jesse and talking about him like he's a saint. He's an asshole too. And a wimp.

I will post this in the thread for Sunday's show, too, but the entire cast of the show + Vince will be on Conan's show on Monday night.

Fuck no. Are you crazy? I'd kill a man RIGHT NOW if it meant I could watch Sunday's episode early.

My thoughts exactly! I'd probably punch my Mama in the face if I was offered a chance to see the last two episodes today!

How can anyone have the restraint to do that?

Actually, even worse than the nearly non-existent "Jesse is a saint" brigade is the "Jesse's dragging everything down" and "he's such a wimp to have a negative psychological reaction and feel bad about the things he's done" brigade. You know, the group that feels the need, every time someone dares to suggest that Jesse is still a somewhat sympathetic character, to remind us that Jesse has done some terrible things - as if we had forgotten. Plus: "Jesse is totally a wimp to feel so depressed and wimps are pathetic."

No, Jesse isn't a seemingly imperturbable badass like Walt - but that makes him seem more human and relatable. His character arc is an important counterpoint to Walt's.

Mind you, I'm actually quite confident that there aren't many people who think Jesse is a saint, but I can understand thinking that he's more sympathetic and ultimately more "redeemable" then Walt. At this point, I still like Jesse - I can't say the same for Walt.

(Mind you, he's still done a lot of evil shit and deserves to pay for his crimes.)

Re: Breaking Bad -- "Ozymandias" -- 9/15/13

Jesse is a sympathetic figure. He was a bad kid/lost soul and got caught up in something that went way over his head. As Jesse grew up he wanted less and less to do with it. He learned the error of his ways but just can't get out.

All the talk of him being a wimp is funny because in yesterday's episode that's exactly what the Nazi's were saying about him. So if you think he's a wimp, congratulations, you have something in common with a bunch of ruthless neo-Nazi's. ;)

But really, his reactions to the events of the show are realistic human reactions.

One of the best ever. I truly think every single episode is excellent (even "Fly") and some are ridiculously impossibly good.

I didn't follow the BB threads too much as they were happening but people didn't like "Fly"? I thought it was one of the best the show has done.

Re: Breaking Bad -- "Ozymandias" -- 9/15/13

Were you watching live?
Fly is hard episode when you only have 8-12 episodes a season, and the previous episodes were a roller coaster.
You waited a year for the new season, then it starts "slow", then OMFG I can't believe they did, it's so great. And then "Fly". And you have to wait one week for a new episode.

If you are marathon watching, "Fly" is a great episode.

Goat3001 03-18-14 10:57 AM

Re: Breaking Bad -- "Ozymandias" -- 9/15/13

I was marathon watching at the time. Totally get it now though, watching shows week to week can be frustrating, especially when a slow episode comes in and slows down momentum.
