I don't know what the TV critics were smoking, but I thought tonight's episode of LWS was solid. It was actually better than the Pilot.
They fleshed out the subplot with the drug dealers more and also helped establish Geddes having dealings with them. What was the deal with Geddes and Sprague Grayden's character? He acted like he knew her and she brushed it off.
And as I mentioned in the Pilot thread, they actually addressed the issue about the water in Brendan's lungs being chlorinated tap water instead of river water.
Just a poorly planned murder by Geddes and Agnew. It looks like Geddes is fucking Agnew over big time.
And I liked the reveal at the end about the CI being in the trunk. Maybe Geddes had some involvement with that too?
Some interesting developments this week. I like where it's going.

Yeah I liked the fact that it fleshed out the story more and we can start connecting the dots. It'll also be interesting to see how Frank investigates the crime that he committed. He will have to protect Geddes from IA in order to save his own ass. It's clear that Geddes was using Agnew from the very beginning. Still have lots of questions but the show hooked me with that second episode.

And the breaking of the wrist postmortem. I didn't think of the water thing while watching the first ep but I definitely noticed their screw up with the wrist.

I actually thought that they'd have worked out a way to get the water out of his lungs yet look surprised about the assumption coming up - like they did with the security cameras last week (complete with shocked expressions when it came up) but luckily they did not go there. That would have been too much suspension of disbelief.
Really enjoying this show.

Solid second episode -- I too am starting to get reeled in by this show. Strong performances and the story has been interesting (thus far). Hopefully the trend continues...

Yeah ratings are down after week 1, but unlike network TV, cable guarantees airing the entire season.
So, worst case scenario, we'll see all 10 episodes of season 1.
That stupid article from EW.com theorized that the show just pissed off Breaking Bad fans. You can't fucking compare the 2 shows. If you do that, than no new and edgier AMC drama will survive.
The reality is, when there is more than a couple of shows on one night, people DVR them. In the case of Sunday, you had Breaking Bad, Talking Bad, the season finale of True Blood, Dexter, Ray Donovan, Unforgettable, Devious Maids, Crossing Lines etc. all in the same night. There just isn't enough live viewers for such a busy night.
