I knew a guy that did some time in federal. The prison he was at didn't have fences. He spent his time outside feeding wild animals.

Just finished the series. Really enjoyed it. So glad that I ended up giving the series a try, since it really was entertaining. Definitely looking forward to a second season.

I knew there was something familiar about Yoga Jones.

She was the voice of Patti Mayonnaise on Doug.

I loved this series. For me it was a Netlfix "MAKE GOOD" for that POS "Hemlock Grove".

But I must say, Although Binge Viewing is "the thing" right now... the downer vibe you get after you see that you're close to the last ep or after watching the last ep realizing you have to wait for the next season SUCKS ASS. Yeah, I know, we did it with "The Sopranos" and other shows...but still it sucks. Especially if a show if good.

I just realized the lead actress and Cap'n Janeway were on that show "Mercy" from a couple years ago. I liked that show.

-All the Latina Prisoners look delicious and are well played by the actresses
-The Black Prisoners are Clowns...but very funny and like the Latina crew, the actresses picked to play them are VERY GOOD.
-Kate Mulgrew is great as usual.
-The Lead girl is alright
-The Warden's Assistant is scary lady and I'm looking forward to see more of her.
-Laura Pepon is hot with Dark Hair and glasses

I barely made it through three episodes and bailed; found it dull, tedious, and didn't give a crap about a single character.

I've watched 4 episodes so far and I have to say that it's actually decent. I was sceptical since Weeds sucked balls from S3 to the end.

Liked it a lot.

If the main character turns into a stupid selfish reckless annoying whore, like Nancy on Weeds, I don't know if I'll finish it.

Turns into? Are we supposed to like the main character because I certainly don't. She makes tons of stupid decisions and often seems overly naive.

I don't say that as a criticism of the show because I enjoyed it, but man she is unlikable. I also have to say that there are multiple characters way more attractive than her.

I'm not sure what I think of Jason Biggs in this show. He's just there. They didn't really have chemistry, but wasn't that the point? She had that chemistry with Alex, but Larry was kind of just a safety thing.

Pretty sure she already is one. Easily the worst character on the show.

Huh? She was that from day one. She just took a short trip to "normal" while dating the dude but even then the selfish reckless shit was still lurking.

I really enjoyed this up until the ending. I was just hoping for something more definitive, I guess. Now we have to wonder "what happened?" until Season 2 (did it get renewed?).

I was amazed when I realized that Pornstache is Nick Sobotka from The Wire.

It was renewed for season 2 BEFORE the first season was even released on Netflix... They liked what they saw....

Re: Orange is the new Black -- from the creator of Weeds -- 7/11/13 (Netflix)

Cool. I had no idea.
My only complaint is just that it didn't seem like a show that needed to end on such a cliffhanger, all things considered.

If you really want to know what happens after that last scene, just do some googling around.

I mean you get an idea.

Also, they just started filming the second season.

Re: Orange is the new Black -- from the creator of Weeds -- 7/11/13 (Netflix)

I'm through 4 episodes and loving it so far. Regardless of what I think of how attractive the actress is or not, I still actually enjoy the character of Piper a lot.

I also watched the first season of The Fall (all 5 episodes???) and thought that was very good too.

House of Cards will be next.

Netflix is going to keep doing this well with its original content, because I'm a brand new streaming subscriber and their selection is just awful. I have a modest 500 or so blus and you'd be happier with my selection than theirs. I'd gladly pay more per month to have a much bigger selection to stream, but if I didn't love those two shows (and assuming I'll love House of Cards), I'd probably cancel after only a few months.

Man...I read this thread last night and decided I'd watch an episode...so here I am ten episodes later. Really good stuff, I'm surprised. Laura Prepon, hubba hubba!

Prediction: someone with more drive than me will do a mash-up where they take Yoga Jones dialogue, especially about alcoholism, growing pot, and murder, and make Patty Mayonnaise say it in clips from Doug.

I started this a few days before my wife and told her she would love it so she started after me. I stopped with three episodes left... only to learn she loved it so much she kept going straight through and finished it. Misunderstood that I would stop to finish with her! Anyway, I finished it today and really enjoyed the season.

This may sound strange, but I was automatically weary of it because Netflix wanted to autoplay the trailer and after I got so annoyed by the autoplay trailer for Hemlock Grove and House of Games (neither of which I've watched) to have it happen with a third show irked me. But then it played and, well, it did in fact entice me. Funny how that works.

To me Yoga Jones totally looks like Carmella Soprano ca 2030.

Great show should be up for many awards in the future. Loved it.

Re: Orange is the new Black -- from the creator of Weeds -- 7/11/13 (Netflix)

If anyone should get an Emmy it should be Captain Janeway. She was the best part of the show imo.

Did they ever show Crazy Eyes flashback story? I don't recall seeing it.

And since they already started filming S2 we might have the new season in the fall/winter I hope
