Seasons 4 and 5 were my favorites of the whole series. Vince is a great character and Michael B. Jordan is a fantastic young actor.

Also agreed that the series as a whole is my favorite TV series of all-time.

In light of this thread and a major summer viewing drought I decided to revisit Dillon. The pilot is still awesome. The acting, music and pure emotion was just phenomenal.

It's still a shame that this show isn't still on. Since this was one of the few shows centered on high school where people actually graduate, the potential to run for years was clearly there.

OK, reviving an old thread here. My wife and I started watching FNL a couple of weeks ago. Got through the first two seasons, and we are now 3 episodes into S3.

I'm glad to learn I wasn't alone in saying "WTF" a lot during S2. The whole Landry murder story was insane. My wife and I kept yelling at the screen "just call the cops NOW! It was self defense! You are MAKING EVERYTHING WORSE!" And then, magically, everything was better.

We started S3 tonight and it seemed that we missed something. Didn't realize that the S2 took place during the writers' strike. Makes sense that they would try to reset.

Still, this is an amazing show (yes, even S2). It's fun to see young actors who went on to bigger things later.

The amazing thing to me is that Landry (Jesse Plemons) is probably one of the best actors to come out of the show (the other being Michael B. Jordan but I think people were high on him even before his turn on FNL). It's like how I now wonder at Alias and how Bradley Cooper was like the nerdy best friend who wasn't the attractive one.

We haven't gotten to the Michael B Jordan parts yet.

I would say Connie Britton might be just ahead of Jesse Plemons as far as current success, she seems to be all over the place. Sucks Taylor Kitsch career never truly took off like people expected, I loved him in this show and enjoy everything he is in (even when the movie itself sucks).

My wife and I rewatch this show at the start of fall every other year and enjoy it every time. My wife gives me shit because almost every episode of season 1 makes me tear up. Zach Gilford is fantastic as Saracen.

Season 3 the show moved over to DirecTV after NBC cancelled it and they cut the episode orders from 22 to 13. It helped a lot with the pacing and storytelling. NBC ultimately decided to pick up the re-airs after it finished airing on DirecTV and that happened for the remainder of the show's run.

I look at season 3 as a course correction for what they screwed up in season 2. 4 and 5 were IMO really the reset and you'll see why.

5 episodes into S4 now. Damn, these people are self-destructive. Michael B. Jordan is really good, it is so much fun to see how some of these stars started out.

Also found out that my next door neighbor went to college with Connie Britton.

I've been binging this on Netflix for the last two months. I'm on S3 E10 now and I don't know how I missed it back in the day. This is a fantastic show and, eye-rolling moments aside, the characters have a lot of heart.
