Was able to catch it on a stream tonight. Great movie, very over the top. Wow, what a trip seeing "macho" Michael Douglas as a nelly old queen fawning over Matt Damon (who had played Gay before in The Talented Mr Ripley). All the kissing and everything...LOL!
I really liked it, and will definitely be getting it on DVD.

HBO's Liberace biopic "Behind the Candelabra" managed to deliver considerable heat to the premium cable network with its Sunday premiere.
The film, which stars Michael Douglas as the flamboyant pianist and Matt Damon as his lover, drew 2.4 million total viewers with initial airing Sunday at 9 p.m.
While those aren't quite the numbers that, say, HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones" pulls in week to week, it does mark the most-watched HBO Films premiere in nearly a decade, since 2004's Alan Rickman/Mos Def film "Something the Lord Made."

It got pretty good ratings.
Visiting the Adult bookstore cracked me up.
Wonder if Douglas and Damon will get Emmy nominations?
Didn't he have those hot Vegas showgirls as part of his act and maybe that camouflaged his gayness to some people.

Yeah I heard this was very good. I'm anxious to see it. After having seen him on TV back in the 70's and 80's, I was lucky enough to be at a show taping where he performed LIVE. The man was fuckin' TALENTED. I was really impressed.

They did a bit on Liberace last night on ET. The showed his last TV interview was on the Oprah show, Christmas Day, 1986. He was talking about if you have your health, then nothing else matters. Less than two months later, he passed away. Also, they showed where his mansion was in ruins. It was sad to see it in that condition.
I wonder who he left his worldly belongings to beside his dogs? They said he left $50,000 to them in his will.

Marty888, you've reminded me of a wonderful old episode of The Simpsons where Bart & Lisa visit Grampa at the retirement home. As they enter the lounge, the "sanitized for seniors" version of "Gone with the Wind" is just about finished, with Rhett declaring "Frankly, my dear...I love you!" As the film ends, one of the seniors asks, "Didn't that movie used to have a war in it???"
