Episode 7 of 13

Deadline mentioned today that this looks "promising" to return for another season. I guess the key will be how it does tonight.

That episode really seemed to fly by quickly. I thought Hannibal was going to turn around at the opera as he did in "Hannibal" the film when Pazzi was looking at him.

Terrific episode. Beautifully shot. It really felt the most cinematic so far and next week's looks interesting as well.

This show is incredible. I just can't believe it's on NBC.

x2

Hannibal closed NBC’s night with a 1.1, flat versus last week.

woah, the preview for next week looks awesome.

as for this episode, it was good, but not great. that look Wil gave Hannibal while he was in the ambulance gave me a thought that Wil may be seeing Hannibal for more than he is.

Haven't see this week's episode yet but what is the likelihood we get Season 2, even with paltry ratings? After the season finale in June NBC has almost a year to build up anticipation, and given the 13 episode planned seasons I would hope this has a decent shot at getting renewed.

It's probably 50/50 Hannibal has distribution to a bunch of overseas territories. So, if the production company wants to continue making the show, they probably need to cut NBC a special deal.

Some news about Hannibal....

Bryan Fuller has no clue about it's status. He said NBC could announce it by Monday or even hold off until later according to this interview.

I asked him when he thought he would know Hannibal’s fate.

He said, “We have no idea. We may not even know for another week or so. They’re being very close to the vest. But they’re saying Bob Greenblatt doesn’t want to make a decision right away. So we may not hear until next week, or the week after. It’s hard to say.”

Really? Even though Greenblatt, NBC’s chairman of entertainment, will be announcing the new schedule on Monday?

“Yeah,” Fuller said. “They won’t announce us being picked up or canceled by Monday is what we’re being told.”

that's weird, but it makes me believe they like it and want to use it as a mid-season show to replace whatever else crap they cancel.

Awesome episode this week and yeah, next week's preview looks just as good. Definitely hoping the NBC brass renews this.

I really liked the heavy operatic sound design in this one.

I was stunned to see Gillian Anderson show up in a cameo role. Was it a personal favor or did the Hannibal producers pay out big money for a one-day shoot? She is very popular in the UK, so it might have been done as much for that market as ours.

AFAIK, she is in more than just one episode.

They're doing a great job with the disturbing images on this show. Whenever they show Hannibal serving dinner, I shudder a little.

According to this story from December it's a multi-episode arc. Not really a cameo role. But her 1st appearance on U.S. television in a long time.

Nothing here is Vegetarian.

Good episode. Not surprised they used the EMT as a Red Herring.

Nice seeing Gillian Anderson although it was brief.

love how they shoot all those cooking scenes.

The preview for next indeed looks intense.

The hotel room and bathroom were clearly modeled on room 237 in The Shining.

I thought it was in the UK or something. Not Canada. Hmm. Wonder of Anderson flew out or they went to her?
