Picard
Riker and Data tie
LaForge
Miles O'Brien
That's my TNG top five. What's very interesting to me is how Worf doesn't rate for me at all on TNG, but he works out much better for me on DS9.

I had a crush on Gates for a while though, in the later years. Redheads...

Data is my favorite, but I think Worf is the character that developed the most on the show (even moreso if you consider his DS9 work)

I was 7 when TNG started, so I didn't think about that at the time...but looking back, Marina was very attractive. I still think so now, but it seems she got a boob job, which wasn't needed. I got to meet her several years ago at a convention, and she was very sweet.

Picard is the Captain, Data is the android, Worf is the grumpy Klingon, Beverly is the ship's Doctor, Troi is the Counselor who tells people obvious things, and Geordi is the blind engineer. Riker is the guy with the beard.
I think the original intent of the character was to lead away team missions because, when the series was in development, they didn't think it was realistic for the Captain to put himself in danger and lead away team missions. But they quickly discovered that, while realistic, it wasn't a good story telling device to keep the Captain hidden away on the ship, and they got stuck with Riker.

Andy: All her clothes fall off?
Stewart: Mmm. Yes. And she's scrabbling around to get them back on again, but even before she can get her knickers on, I've seen everything. I've seen it all."
I still voted Data. That was because he was a crew member, otherwise it would have been Q.

Riker was kind of a pointless character when you get down to it. As the executive officer, he wasn't the Captain, but he didn't really seem to have any place in the crew, either.

Data. Easily Data.
That's a character who can lead to obsessive fans of Brent Spiner like this woman.

It was close between Picard and Data, but I went with Data. I liked the evolution of his character throughout the series and Brent is hilarious when he's at conventions (I still regret not getting his autograph at the last Las Vegas con).

I actually liked him better on DS9, probably because of Ronald D. Moore's involvement in the series, he was a much more fleshed out character. I'm hoping that Michael Dorn can get that Trek series with Worf as a captain green-lighted.

You know, a Worf series would be so great right now. The movies are hot, the character's got high recognition, the actor is cheap, and the universe in question has clear-blue-skies in terms of canon. Hell, even a half-hour green screen web series would kick ass.

This or even do a Titan series with Frakes..although I like the Worf as captain idea a lot. I've really been wanting another Trek TV series lately after going through some of the older series on Netflix.

I went with Geordi. I always liked Burton for some reason he just seemed cool to me when he was on screen. I also thought he was somewhat underused. Picard is pretty much right there with him though. Patrick Stewart is just awesome and when I was a kid I always thought Kirk was the better Captain but as I've gotten older I enjoy Picard much more. I like the whole cast though pretty much, Deanna is my least favorite.
Not sure if I'd enjoy a series that mainly revolves around Worf. I like the character but he's not so much my favorite that I think a show based around him as Captain would be that interesting. I'd probably still watch it though. I'd be much more interested in a Riker/Titan series.

God, I always hated Barclay.
He was the Jar Jar Binks of Star Trek.

I didn't mind Barclay at first, but when they got into the whole holosuite addiction thing, he got really annoying.
