MSN Xbox Live wants to revive "Heroes"

The once-popular NBC series Heroes may be revived through MSN, which is looking to break into original content through its XBox network.

Negotiations are still in the very early stages, but sources have confirmed that MSN has shown interest in bringing back the show, which ran for four seasons between 2006 and 2010. The show will feature a different cast of heroes and story lines, while bringing back original series stars for cameo appearances.

Back in February, MSN hired former NBC development executive Jada Miranda to oversee production of its XBox entertainment studio, under former CBS president Nancy Tellem.

Back in June 2010, series creator Tim Kring (Touch) met with NBC about the possibility of a mini-series which would bring Heroes to a close. That plan was later downgraded to a two-hour movie, but that was shot down in September 2010.

Heroes starred Hayden Panettiere, Milo Ventimiglia, Zachary Quinto, Masi Oka, James Kyson-Lee, Jack Coleman, Adrian Pasdar, and Greg Grunberg.

Fine, as long as nobody involved with the original is allowed to do anything on this new one.

100% agreed.

This is what Heroes was supposed to be in the first place: Non-recurring characters, but all tied to an overall storyline. Instead, it ended up just focusing on a specific group ad nauseum, and with bad storylines. :P

But seriously, absolutely no person behind the original should be behind this one. Second, I'm gonna need to see some money spent on SFX in the first couple of episodes so I'm not led along for 4 seasons for the epic battle between two of the most powerful heroes known to man pushing dirt back and forth.

Yep, I agree. It could work, but only if there's a whole new creative team involved.
