Well that's a different take on Caesar.
Seemed like they all had sex in this ep. Surely they're all going to die now.

I was also kinda sad to see Crixus go but he definitely went out in a blaze of glory like he wanted. They made him too obnoxious this season to shed a tear for him though.
I was really impressed with the way they handled the Agron - Nasir relationship. It seemed to be one of the few gay relationships on TV that was handled really well and wasn't your typical stereotype. I felt bad for them when they were saying their goodbyes.
And I died laughing when Crassius asked Caesar why he wasn't riding a horse.

Caesar can't sit down. Oh man that was a scene. I was sure he was going to kill the kid on field by "mistake".

Crassus: "Caesar? You're still here?"
Caesar: "Why wouldn't I be?"
Crassus: "Tiberius told me he helped pack your shit last night."
Tiberius: [knowing smirk]

Even though I still like this show, I'm looking forward to seeing it end as it's kind of worn out its welcome. IMO, the spark the show once had was lost when Lucretia, Illythia, Glaber, and Ashur went to the afterlife last season. Crassus and Caesar aren't really villains. They haven't done anything cruel to Spartacus' side on a personal level the way the others did. They're simply military commanders out to eliminate an enemy of Rome. Even Tiberius' villainy seems restricted to fucking (literally) people on his own side. Without true charismatic villains which this show once had an abundance of, the audience is forced to watch the antics of the good guys, none of whom are particularly good actors. They range from decent (Spartacus, Gannicus, Laeta) to meh (Crixus, Sibyll).

I still enjoy the show, and this episode especially seemed to be a nice good bye to characters I'm fond of, but man, did they have to let that bitch Tiberius get critical shots on two of the better warriors on the show? That was three characters in this episode that he assaulted from behind.

I would have preferred to see Crixus meet his demise via Crassus.
For the history buffs: is this more or less the way Crixus died? Trying to sack Rome?

Agreed, ready for it to end as it has kind of worn its welcome for me also.
In all honesty for me it has been the same since we lost Andy Whitfield and then after the "prequel" when we no longer had Batiatus.
Oh well its been a good run but time to finish up.

Not quite. The real Crixus was killed in battle in Eastern Italy rather far from Rome against a legion commanded by a Roman named Publicoa a year before Crassus took control. Spartacus' army later defeated Publicoa's forces, but the Roman survived.

Got around to seeing it today...sad but the moment I knew Crixus was marching on Rome the odds and ending wasn't going to be one of good and glorious.
That said we have to wonder what reaction and action from Spartacus when he receives Crassus "message". I cannot see both Tiberius and Caesar unscathed at the very end and it's a safe bet that Caesar will come out on top...more ways than one. Which may set up something to replace Spartacus on Starz....Caesar
