TV Guide - 15 shows we want to come back

With the success of the Veronica Mars Kickstarter, TV guide looks at 15 other shows that we would want back:

http://www.tvguide.com/special/winte...g-Back-1061152

I wouldn't mind a one off movie for deadwood, V, Pushing Daisies to close out the shows

Bryan Fuller is looking intently at the Veronica Mars kickstarter to do just that with Pushing Daisies.

Re: TV Guide - 15 shows we want to come back

I thought Fuller said that Pushing Daisies would be too expensive (or that they would have to shoot for much more than the VM kickstarter). I'd assume the same for fantasy/sci fi stuff like V, Firefly, Buffy, etc. or period pieces.

Re: TV Guide - 15 shows we want to come back

I thought Pushing Daisies wrapped up pretty well. Wonderfalls no so much...

Technically Buffy The Vampire Slayer wasn't even canceled. Sarah Micheller Gellar was done so she talked Joss Whedon into wrapping the series.

This list of 15 is kind of bogus anyway. V, Leverage and Jericho had gotten so unwatchable by their season ends that I was grateful they were gone.

My vote (though it had a pretty good S1 finale that turned into a pleasant enough series finale) would go to Journeyman. Also I kind of wish Life had had a chance to wrap things up since they left the S2 story lines majorly hanging!

Bring back Heroes?

I'd pay a kickstarter to keep that show buried.

I'm okay with Buffy and how it ended. I would love to see a spin-off series "Tales Of The Slayer" It was a series of books with short stories and each one was about a different slayer from different times.

They already ruined Family Ties by adding a kid to it. You want more of that?

Re: TV Guide - 15 shows we want to come back

I do think a lot of these shows petered out in the end, and if you could somehow pull something like Superman Returns and just forget some of the later seasons exist and continue on from when the shows were actually good, I'd be up for a Heroes (post season 1) or Alias (post season 2 or 3) revival or reimagining. (Of course, Superman Returns bombed, but I still think the concept of continuing from 2 was good... just the whole execution of peeping-tom Superman having illegitimate children kinda ruined it).

Re: TV Guide - 15 shows we want to come back

The full list:

1. Firefly
2. Leverage
3. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
4. Chuck
5. Heroes
6. Terra Nova
7. Veronica Mars
8. Moonlight
9. CSI: Miami
10. Ghost Whisperer
11. V
12. Pushing Daisies
13. Jericho
14. Ringer
15. Deadwood

I didn't watch most of these. Buffy had a long run and a proper ending, don't need more of that. Leverage was losing steam its final season, but I'd like to some Leverage movies (and long-awaited Monk movies!).

Man, what I wouldn't give for a Jericho movie.

Poor Skeet. The guy can't catch a break. Same with Christian Slater.

CSI: Miami got 10 years. How much more do you need?

I look at the question as pertaining to shows that never really got a fair shake. Some I'd love to revisit:

Chuck
Pushing Daisies
Sports Night
Freeks & Geeks (not sure how that would work though)

And I'm still waiting on that Quantum Leap reboot/continuation.

Heroes could be interesting if they went back to the original concept of focusing on a new group of characters each season.

Re: TV Guide - 15 shows we want to come back

1. Firefly - It wrapped up well enough because of the movie.
2. Leverage - Never seen
3. Buffy the Vampire Slayer - I highly enjoyed this show, however it had a proper ending for what they wanted to do plus I read the comics for newer stories.
4. Chuck - Never seen
5. Heroes - I would like to see more, I think they would need to define it a bit better, it become so sloppy and all over the place.
6. Terra Nova - A tv movie would be enough.
7. Veronica Mars - I saw season one from the library.
8. Moonlight - Never seen
9. CSI: Miami - Never seen
10. Ghost Whisperer - It had a proper ending as well from what I saw. (Did I miss something?)
11. V - Never seen
12. Pushing Daisies - Never seen
13. Jericho - Tv movie
14. Ringer - New enough where I will say yes.
15. Deadwood - Never seen

The shows I always wanted more of was and ending to Now And Again (over a decade ago) Journeyman was also good though I can seen the story as done well enough.

Heroes could be interesting if they went back to the original concept of focusing on a new group of characters each season.
Not sure if they always have to go new each time with no regulars, even if they did I would not mind the idea, and not every season has to be an end of the world type of story. The show felt like it got really lost within season two and three and tried to find a balance a bit in season four which still had the flip flopping with Sylar.

Re: TV Guide - 15 shows we want to come back

The problem with Heroes is that the first season brought them together and resulted in a climax where there were basically (at least) two uber-powerful individuals. Due to budget and story constraints, they had to find increasingly inane ways of either stranding them somewhere else or otherwise gimping their powers. So everyone wanted to see cool future Hiro and super powerful Peter, and instead got stupid plots and brain damage and memory loss and all kinds of crap.

Now that I think of it, if they actually got a budget for a movie I wouldn't mind seeing a Heroes movie. One complaint I had for most of the series is that they didn't have enough budget, and they strung plotlines along way way too long, which would be mitigated by a movie. Of course, they wouldn't have a budget, so we'd get a super long episode of Mohinder whining or something. I never did even bother to watch the last few episodes.

I can honestly say that I hope none of those shows come back with the exception of 'Deadwood' which I somewhat liked.

What an awful list. Did someone actually get paid to come up with this crap? Deadwood at 15? Behind Heroes, V CSI Miami and Jericho? Really?!
