Well that was an unexpected turn in the story.
Instead of Castle doing Liam Neeson (or Ashley Judd as they made a pretty funny reference to in the episode), we get Castle finding his daddy.
Bravo Castle writers, I didn't see that twist coming...

I read something a while back about them introducing Castle's dad, but didn't expect him to end up being a spy. These two episodes were very well done.

Guess I am in the minority, but I enjoyed this 2-parter up until the twist in this episode. I feel like it lost the tension the two episodes had built up after that point in the show.
edit: also glad to see "The Swede" from Hell on Wheels on there tonight.

Great episode. I loved it. They didn't try to turn Castle into Liam Neeson (which would have been silly), but instead they let him use his connections and money to get help. This was another really well written episode.
Castle is definitely my favorite show on TV right now.

Enjoyed this episode. There were moments of tension and moments of levity (I especially liked Rick complaining about his phone and dad having to remind him to pick up the suitcase with millions of dollars in it). Castle was realistically badass in the two episodes.

It was part 2 of the episodes where Castle and Beckett were working w/ the CIA in season 4. When Jennifer Beals character takes them to this area that looks something like an empty parking garage, she mentions it to Castle.

The only problem I had was having Josh Brolin's name in the opening credits kind of killed the suspense when he showed up. The suspect diagram they kept showing was obviously him.

That was fun. Liked the twist of Alexis being the target, not the friend. Didn't like the scenes in France. The close-ups were obviously on a green screen and poorly done. The long-shots used a body double that was quite clearly not Nathan Fillion. Loved watching the guy blow up

Saw both parts again last night. The France stuff jumps right out at you for how bad they are. Loved the twist of how they got the bad guy. Not sure if it is a coincidence but in spite of the tender moments they shared on screen, Fillion and Stanic were apart much of the time. I think this is when they started to separate them more. Same thoughts as Collven on Josh Brolin.

You are correct sir. I just repeated the mistake without noticing.. James Brolin is very funny in Life In Pieces. Sorry to see that go.
