At highway speeds AC is better, but at cruising around town speeds (likely any situation where you're not fleeing a herd/gang) it's a drag on fuel.

So who is going to have visions of ghost Axel? Laurie was looking better as a ghost than she ever did alive.

This show has a Rule Of One when it comes to black men. Both cannot be alive on camera at the same time.

I think he is lined up to star in a new show. They might have skipped the pilot and ordered a few episodes even... don't quite recall the details.

Lol! That'd be something. I still can't get over Lori crashing in season two. I mean seriously there are dead people walking around and she crashes in to one almost as if she may hurt it if she hits it. I love season two, but that moment was utterly moronic.

Probably Beth judging by the way Axel was salivating over her.

My predictions for the 3 shocking deaths this season are (total guesses, no spoilers):

Axel, Governor, Merle. :)

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Home" -- 2/17/13

A little slow at first but this episode was pretty great.

I liked the Dixon brothers storyline. Daryl standing up to Merle was really cool. With the information of having an abusive father it fleshes them both out and makes their motivations a little easier to understand. Why is Merle a complete asshole? Because that's how he was raised and treated as a child. This proves that Daryl is stronger simply by the fact that he was able to overcome this horrible experience.

When they showed up and Daryl and Merle were working together to save Rick it was great.

I'm pretty sure that Merle isn't going to make it out of this season but after this episode I'm pretty sure that he's going to go out a heroic badass.

I don't know why they'd want to get rid of Michael Rooker...unless it's just a case where he doesn't want to be a regular. Since Andrea was supposed to be killed off at the end of LAST season, I think it's a safe bet she's not going to make it past this one.

Yeah, Rick must really have loved his wife, as he apparently remembers her having curves and being able to go twenty seconds without nagging him.

No shit! "OMG was the driver Andrea!?!?!" No, numb-nuts, it was a smaller person who could sprint fast and was heavily armored because they were going to have to wade through a firefight and a whole mess of zombies. I wish people would stop applying the damned Da Vinci Code to every moment in every episode.

If you count the number of remaining fingers the released zombies had, and divide by the length of the mustache that Otis had, then spell out that number alphabetically, it starts with the letter "F". Everyone knows that a "F" is a failing grade, and what is opposite of that grade? An "A". So if "F" stood for family and "A" for Andrea... Andrea was clearly driving the van since she was acting "opposite" from her old family. It's so obvious people!

Maybe I need to rewatch the scene, but when I first saw it the woman in gear looked like a damned assassin running around and shooting. We haven't seen a single woman in woodbury who looks like they could even shoot a gun, much less have the balls to volunteer to drive a bus full of zombies into a firefight. Maybe I was just reading into to much though.

My guess is that the woman with the helmet was either Lilly. Or possibly Lilly (less likely).

Granted, they're probably pretty well protected within the prison, but they still have to make their runs for supplies. Incidentally, has no one in post-apocalyptic stories ever heard of bicycles?

It's going to be interesting to see if they tackle the prospect that gasoline only has a shelf life of one year considering no new gas has been produced for about a year now since the world went to shit. I doubt it and if they don't it's not really going to bother me. The more important thing is whether Daryl's ripped shirt is made whole again in the next episode! :grunt:

I did have a nitpicky thing from season 2 that bothered me, but I don't want to hijack this episode's thread.

The comic answers the fuel question for both groups of survivors, but that seems like a topic that will probably be glanced right over on the show. Just assume that are siphoning gas until it eventually all goes bad I guess.

I picked Axel before the break ended. My guesses were Axel, Hershel, and Beth. Hershel is a dead man outside that prison and Beth is on borrowed time IMO.

Given that producer change I have a feeling that they will leave the main cast alone for a while after this season and slow the pace down again.

It's not Andrea, for obvious narrative reasons - not least of which is that she was specifically shown asking where the Governor and his right-hand men were while they were on their way to the prison. Also, the driver did his or her job and got the hell out of there as planned; that sure as shit doesn't sound like our Andrea, now does it?

Like I said, it was a small person - male or female - because s/he needed to be able to get out of there fast after unleashing the walkers. And s/he was "disguised" in full body armor because, hey, s/he's transporting a van full of undead cannibals and will be waltzing past them and through a firefight before the afternoon's over.

Is Merle's motorcycle (er...chopper) in the prison? I forget where it was last seen. Just curious.

Re: The Walking Dead -- "Home" -- 2/17/13

My guess on the three (comics spoiler):
Spoiler:
The prison arc ends pretty much as it did in the comics, with Andrea in place of the female lackey who guns down Lori and the baby. Beth goes down holding the kid, Andrea realizes what's she done and turns her rifle on the Gov.

I don't think even The Walking Dead will be ballsy enough to kill off a baby, but who knows. And I don't think Andrea will die this season, as the producers can milk plenty of "juicy drama" (pronounced "cheap talky bits") from Andrea trying to reintegrate in to the group. So I figure the third character to bite it will be Herschel.

I hope that Merle sticks around because I really like Rooker. To me he just seems like the kind of character they wouldn't keep around too much longer. I hope I'm wrong.

I hope you're right about Andrea though, I'm tired of that character/actress.

I just recently go into this show and I can't stand anything zombie anymore....having said that I am all caught up with every episode and have even purchased the first season on bluray. Hands down my favorite tv show of all time. There is just something about it that keeps me wanting more.

Last nights episode was great as well....it's going to be interesting to see what they do with Merle and Glenn

My guess: I think the driver was Milton - he was wearing a wig to look like Andrea so that the folks in the prison would think she turned on them.

Reasons:
1. He had just had the speech with the governor about taking the bullet (and off camera the governor told him to saddle up).

2. He handles the zombies.

3. When he was talking to Andrea, he appeared to be in a hurry - which is why he was late driving the truck into the compound.
