Raising Hope -- "Modern Wedding/Yo Zappa Do, Part 1" -- 1/29/13

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Synopsis:

Leslie Jordan and Wilmer Valderrama Guest-Star

The wedding day is finally here and Sabrina's mom has hired the camera crew from "Modern Family" to capture the whole blessed event. But a series of catastrophes threatens to ruin the day, including a battle between Maw Maw and Reverend Bob (guest star Jordan). So Burt and Virginia scramble to save the ceremony and keep Jimmy and Sabrina in ignorant, matrimonial bliss. Then, as a wedding gift, Barney offers to fly Jimmy and Sabrina to Los Angeles for a taping of "Yo Zappa Do," Hope's favorite show. But due to Jimmy's fear of flying, the entire family embarks on a road trip instead. Meanwhile, Burt and Virginia agree to take in Ricardo (guest star Valderrama) as a house guest, but he soon wears out his welcome in the special all-new one-hour "Modern Wedding/Yo Zappa Do, Part 1" episode of RAISING HOPE airing Tuesday, Jan. 29 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (HOP-314/15) (TV-14 D, L, S, V)

Wow, the wedding episode was brilliant. I mean they could have made the wedding episode just be about the wedding itself, but they went for broke.

The second episode was pretty good too. Goth Sabrina was pretty damn hot.

Bijou Phillips is great. Every episode she shows up in is great.

I watched this last night and thought it was quite novel for them to do 2 episodes in one half hour. The wedding episode felt like a full episode and when the next one started I thought "oh my DVR is going to cut this off" Loved both of them.

Yes Goth Sabrina was hot

Loved the Wedding/modern family style. I thought for sure Frank was going to "kill" the Ex with the sword. Who was the guy Sabrina was dancing with?

And thumbs up for Goth Sabrina!

They were two half hour shows.

I thought the wedding one was one the best of the series. The second was OK, but maybe I was being jaded by the quality of the first.

Burt continues to be one the best characters on TV (along with Nick from New Girl and Phil from Modern Family). His expressions and background stuff are great. Loved him pulling "Schadenfreude" out of his ass (correctly!) and Virginia chiding him for "just making up words now". And his explanation of how Lucy coming back every year is getting old!

I guess time flew by as I was watching it.. didn't seem like an hour.

I agree with Burt, the whole Lucy's Back story is old... and I didn't like when they brought her back last year. I had no idea that "Schadenfreude" was a real word!

Dancing Dan!

Also, trivia note, the kid who plays Trevor (Camden Garcia) is the son of series creator Greg Garcia.
