Let's see if Bacon's acting improves from the pilot.

So based on the picture, the faux gay guys and the nanny are going to be around for awhile as cast members?

I watched the first episode and couldn't shake the thought that I was watching Revelations 2.0. Anyone remember that turd from a few years ago? I'm going to give it a second shot but don't know if I can suspend reality enough to enjoy it.

A billion cool points for using a Deftones song tonight.

The Poe masked dude absolutely scared the shit out of my wife when he jumped out. I love it.

I'm really enjoying the show so far, even liking this episode more than the first one. I thought the use of flahsbacks was effective.

The only part I didn't understand was why they would give Carroll a book near the end.

Maybe they want us to think she is in the cult. I think it is a red herring though.

Agreed on both counts. I haven't heard "Change" in a while -- effective use of it in this episode. My wife jumped at the Poe dude and when the bad cop descended from the ceiling.

Great episode tonight -- better than the pilot.

A nicely done ep 2. Great use of flashbacks for this episode. Definitely like where this is going.

Super nit-picky but wish they used the original Massive Attack version of Angel. (Sounds like its the Sepultura cover after a quick youtube search)

Watching it right now.

Wow, The Poe mask scene scared the shit out of me. My heart is still racing.

Agree about the flashbacks. Very effective.

Wow, Emma murdering her mother in the flashback was pretty twisted.

Re: The Following -- "Chapter Two" -- 1/28/13

Am I the only one finding everyone in this show to be beyond stupid? I get being duped once, maybe twice, by secret cultists, by why in the hell are we leaving the ex-wife alone with only one guard? There should be a completely redundant oversight network of officers watching each other. Bacon yelled at two guys on a coffee break but is cool with Scrawny McRecruit watching the bedroom by himself?

Also, can no one scream in this world? The sorority girl could have had an army around her in seconds, as could have the ex-wife (lucky for her she was needed for more than a plaything).

I dunno, I like it, but I'm finding a lot of the actions of the "good guys" to be completely absurd. Though I really enjoyed the "Hey, you can't do that." / "No, you can't." exchange to be a highlight

Re: The Following -- "Chapter Two" -- 1/28/13

Holy shit that last scene was crazy Poe mask guy walks up to random guy and sets him on fire.

Agree with some of the earlier comments second episode was even better than the first. Lots of suspenseful moments and very effective use of music and flashbacks.

I really liked that last song in the last sequence. That was Deftones?? What's the name of the song?

Bacon was effective in the 2nd episode. Didn't feel like he was sleep walking.

Natalie Zea needs to keep her hair straightened. She looks so much hotter that way.

Right now we don't know how many followers Carroll has. Could be hundreds of people for all we know.

Emma is an interesting character. Very twisted.

Even though this is the most retarded way to reply to a post, the only response I have is: THIS

I also find it hard to believe that he wouldn't notice a living person in the Poe mask.

The Poe Mask Guy came into the room when Bacon's back was turned away from the masks. He wasn't there when Bacon first looked at the masks.

Re: The Following -- "Chapter Two" -- 1/28/13

I'm enjoying the show but it is way too predictable. You can see the twists and turns coming from a mile off. Mummified mom in the house, bad guy in the duct work, etc. By the end of the episode I was even correctly guessing the next lines to be spoken. I'm hoping that these are just growing pains and the type of writing that was designed to get network execs to sign off on the show rather than an indicator of things to come.

It's summer/popcorn fun. As I mentioned last week, this show is going to be easy to nitpick. Just enjoy the ride.

So far I'm enjoying the show. But yeah, I almost turn off my brain while watching.

Re: The Following -- "Chapter Two" -- 1/28/13

Knowing this is a network show, it's likely never going to be too complex. These are built with the possibility that it permits new viewers to jump in at any point and pretty much have an idea of what's going on. Unless of course, the creative team was given permission to follow the "Lost" approach, but haven't heard that to be the case.

Knowing that, things should be fairly predictable and its already been stated, but I don't plan on questioning the logic too much.

I am enjoying the ride thus far.

No. It was the song in the middle when the chick killed her mother.

I'm still enjoying it.

Yes, you can nitpick (can't they leave a guard IN THE ROOM with the person they are protecting?), but the production values are high and the acting is pretty decent.

Wouldn't surprise me if this show benefits from word-of-mouth and ends up with a decent, um...following.
