I'm pretty sure Jim's company is in a time bubble and follows rules from 1999 when start-ups didn't have to have a business plan or a way to make profit, just a bunch of young people in a big expensive office ("exposed brick" is a must!).

The brick just makes it harder to rip the copper wiring out of the walls when they go bankrupt in three months. When will they ever learn.

Yes clearly Jim working for a start up that is doing well is obviously more far fetched than Andy's reasonable departure for weeks (months?)...

I think both are more realistic than Clark satisfying Jan sexually.

Or surviving Jan sexually.

Jim's start-up has been fairly effective so far. My wife previously had no idea who Dr. J was. Now she knows he has something to do with basketball.

Jim gets no credit for that. It was the documentary team following him that has given Dr. J the exposure.

I also had to explain Dr. J to my wife.

Obviously, your wives are not old-school, Apple II/Commodore 64-era gamers.

Don't count on Michael Scott appearing in the finale...

I was on the fence about it continuing after Michael Scott left with hopes of a reboot with Sapder and Helms but that was a mistake. I understand Spader leaving since he was just a ringer but Helms abandoning the ship is unforgivable esp considering he campaigned to be the new star.

Hope anybody considering hiring him in the future considers what kind of "loyality" he has.

It's not like he threw some dice and decided to leave; he's filming The Hangover 3. He'll be back.

Oh great! Cuz there's just so much uncovered ground left after the first two.

True, but at this point, The Office isn't exactly breaking new ground either.

And with being one of the big stars of it I'm sure he could have said he gave his word to NBC and to wait until he was free.

I'm actually surprised NBC let him do it instead of forcing him to stay like Pierce Broson and Remington Steele.

Re: The Office -- "Suit Warehouse" -- 1/17/13

While I agree it's been weird and lame that Andy seemingly fell off the face of the Earth, especially in light of last year's drawn out Andy vs Nellie/Robert California plot line -- I'm pretty sure when Helms signed on for the final run on The Office, his contract with NBC made stipulations for his movie career (particularly for films he was already contractually obligated to do ie. Hangover 3), so NBC knew what they were getting into when they made Andy the new boss.

^Wow. Didn't know that. Wonder why NBC would agree to such a deal that basically makes them sloppy seconds esp since, at that point, they were hoping to continue The Office.
