Synopsis:

Oliver's (Stephen Amell) confidence is shaken after being beaten by the Dark Archer and he takes a break from being Arrow. However, when Laurel (Katie Cassidy) calls Arrow for help investigating a firefighter's suspicious death, he reluctantly agrees but his hesitance while fighting almost costs him his life. Meanwhile, Tommy (Colin Donnell) throws a benefit for the firefighters and Thea (Willa Holland) tries to lift Moira (Susanna Thompson) out of her depressive state. Eagle Egilsson directed the episode written by Moira Kirland & Ben Sokolowski (#110).

Glad it's back.

So Firefly, huh? Cool.

Not so cool they killed him off. What good is having all these villains on the show if very few reoccur?

That's an unfortunate trope whenever they comic book based TV shows/movies.

They're always killing off the villains. The Batman movies did it constantly. Jim Carrey escaped it because his popularity then bred hope he'd want to do a return engagement.

The main villain, played by John Barryman, is still alive. The show is a classic example of episodic story telling. One story completed every episode, one main villain over the entire season and character interactions. Buffy, Angel, and BSG did it and did it well.

Cool episode. Nice return back from the hiatus. This episode was essentially...."How the Green Arrow got his Groove Back"

The murdering firefighter (Firefly) was a psycho. Surprised he gave up so easily when he confronted Ollie at the club.

I guess Laurel's best friend is essentially written out as of this episode.

To bad it wasn't her father that was written out. He is absolutely horrible and kills my interest whenever he's on screen.

Manu Bennett from Spartacus will be playing Deathstroke for multiple episodes. Not sure when he appears though.

The showrunners don't want recurring villains to become too popular, then they would have to add another member to the cast's budget.

I understand she is probably critical to the show's long-term plan for the Dad's backstory, but the scenes with Arrow's mother are doing nothing for me. It feels like they are from a different show, she's completely detached from the action so far.

Favorite type of television story telling, I like having episodes you can watch alone yet you still get the bigger picture by the end. (Watch a lone down the line) Shows that are basically one movie make that almost impossible.
