Duffy always been cold blooded but he was way over his head last season with that psycho Quarles around.
Glad to see the writers not having Raylan knuckle up. I still remember when Coover Bennett whopped his ass.

Exactly. And more. It's never been made out like Raylan is super tough in a fist fight. He is, however, unfettered in doing what needs to be done. And if it comes down to a gun being necessary, he's quite OK with that too.

As I recall, they established early on that you could get the drop on Raylan with the inmate who got the best of him in the convenience store. If the time comes to kill Raylan (and frankly I think that may be at the end of the show for various reasons), it will certainly be that fatal flaw that makes it happen.

I think that's the point of the story. The preacher is a hustler and grifter, being controlled by his sister, and not really a man of God who got the calling. As such he can only sell to the weak minded and then only for a short time, which is why they move around so much. If he did have the calling they would put down roots and fleece their flock for many years.
