A rare moment of clarity from Sheldon. Fascinating.

Loved the discussion the girls got into.

I thought this was a great episode. The stuff with the girls trying to get into comics made me pretty good. Also enjoyed Sheldon programming trivia into the GPS It was pretty rare that Sheldon actually seemed pretty down on being a geek for once after all they went through. Also the TNG costumes the guys wore were pretty good if you ask me.

I'd pay good money to see the two blondes rub their tits together.

I was hoping to hear Bernadette's yelling voice, but I guess that only works with Howard's mother.

And I liked how usually-bossy Sheldon fell right into being commanded by Leonard. That shows how much he respects the uniform.

I was thinking the same thing. He looked pretty damn close to Brent Spiner as Data if you ask me. Nice work by the makeup artists for this episode.

For those interested, the 4 state capitals that aren't served by the Interstate system are:

Juneau, AK
Pierre, SD
Dover, DE
Jefferson City, MO

Carson City, NV was the 5th, but I-580 was extended to the city.

A wonderful episode that utilized both sets of characters well. Loved the guys' sub-plots with the Star Trek, and loved the inadvertent big comic book argument the girls got in to. Great episode for sure.

I'm thinking that will be a pivotal character moment for Sheldon. Maybe there will be fewer "geeky" endeavors for him, and more focus on his relationship with Amy.

Loved it.

"why do the guys waste time arguing about things that don't exist?" smash cut to the ladies arguing about Thor's Hammer.

Re: The Big Bang Theory -- "The Bakersfield Expedition" -- 1/10/13

This was probably the geekiest episode they've done, and it was great. The guy's story was funny, but I thought the girl's venture into comic books was well executed. I loved Amy soaking in the attention at the comic book store, to Amy and Bernadette reading the comics faster than Penny, to the evolution of their arguments. Comparing Thor's hammer to Harry Potter's wand was great! The inclusion of a newer and obscure-to-the-general-audience character like Red Hulk added an extra layer of geekiness.

"There's no up in space." Bernadette
"Then why does the sun come up each morning?" Penny

One observation I had was that Marvel characters seem to be more of a focus than DC lately. WB owns the show so DC has always been prominently featured. But Sheldon wearing Howard's Iron Man mask a few weeks ago and the Thor's hammer argument makes me wonder what's up.

Yeah, great episode. Everything was almost perfect. I'm not big in Star Trek knowledge and laughed a lot with all the jokes. I can only imagine a true fan.

Obligatory "Penny looked really hot!!!!".

Cuoco has really been looking great, which is tough considering Melissa Rauch's general sex appeal.

I also loved Stuart's reactions to the guys in the store.

Fun fact of the day, both Brent Spiner, who plays Data, and Jim Parsons, who palys Sheldon, are University of Houston graduates.

I liked it even better because it wasn't a smash cut -- they actually showed the conversation evolving from "why do they argue about things that don't exist" to arguing over Thor's hammer.

Yeah, loved how it started from a throw away comment about being able to pick up the hammer. Fairly realistic way of a conversation like that to start, too.

Is it really? I'm sure that many people have discovered the show in syndication and are now giving the new episodes a go. Hell, sometimes I think that it's all TBS plays these days.

Yep this is pretty much the case with me. I had seen the show a few times before but syndication is where I really started to watch it a bunch and got hooked on it. I didn't start watching the actual new episode broadcasts regularly until about halfway through season five. I'm sure it's the same for a lot of people who've seen the TBS airings of it.
