My 2-for-1 HBO/MAX is ending soon - timing works out well....looks like I won't need HBO in the winter/spring.

December 12:

The 19th Annual SAG Awards (TNT): Special presentation
I was wondering about this because it seemed way too soon to actually hold the awards. This show is just to announce the nominees.

No, the SAG awards is an actual awards show with the Screens Actors Guild honoring their actors. Has nothing to do with the Oscars.

What do you mean? The SAG Awards show is January 27. This December 12th thing is to announce the nominees for the awards given out at that January show.

My bad. Ignore what I said. I actually saw it listed in January again and thought it was a typo.

Update:

Made a couple of additions and minor corrections. Fixed the SAG Awards. It's 2 listings as Drexl pointed out. Nominees in December and Awards in January.

Just a minor update.

USA is burning off one of their Unaired Pilots as a 2 Hour movie. It's called "Over/Under" and stars Steven Pasquale from Rescue Me and Giancarlo Esposito from Revolution.

Airing on January 4th.

A new season of Joe Schmo, titled "The Joe Schmo Show: The Full Bounty" will premier on Spike TV starting Tuesday January 8, 2012 @ 10e/9c. A second episode immediately follows the first (two one hour episodes back to back). There are scheduled to be 10 episodes. The new season will be hosted once again by Ralph Garman, who will be playing a new character.

FYI, the original season of Joe Schmo was probably the greatest single season of reality TV, ever.

Update on some new NBC shows:

It was reported today that Hannibal and Save Me might air before the official TV season is over. It not, they will air this summer.

Save Me is a 30 minute comedy starring Anne Heche

Dracula with Jonathan Rhys Meyers won't be ready until this Fall.

Crossbones (A 1 hour Pirate drama) starring Hugh Laurie from House is about to start production.

Hugh Laurie is playing Black Beard.

Actually I should correct myself. He's still in negotiations to sign on.

I don't want to bump an old Alphas or Revolution thread to mention this.

One of the Producers of Alphas mentioned today that they should find out this week if it will come back for a 3rd season. I think the chances are slim it's back.

Also, Revolution's season order for reduced from 22 to 20. 10 more episodes are now left. With 10 episodes left, the season will finish by May 27th. Otherwise, it would finish 2 weeks into June.

Also, the new show that airs tomorrow Deception got it's episode order reduced from 13 to 11. Same deal, with 11 episodes, it's enough time to fill the gap until March 25th when Revolution comes back. They couldn't fit in 2 extra episodes.

That's too bad. It's one of the only things on SyFy that I liked. But maybe it served them right. After the season finale, I couldn't get "The Only Living Boy in New York" out of my head for weeks. I still find the final scene with the contrasting music quite compelling.

Had no idea what to expect from Legit. The commercials were all pretty weak but the first episode was really good. Will be watching this one again.

Agreed -- I was impressed. It's probably deserving of a season thread.

Anyone jonesing for some Gordon Ramsay? "Ramsay Behind Bars" premiers on BBCA January 22 at 9e/8c. The premise is that "Gordon Ramsay is going to attempt the impossible: Set up a catering company in Brixton Prison and make offenders pay their way." I believe there are four weekly episodes. It originally aired in England last summer as "Gordon Behind Bars," but shows up as "Ramsay Behind Bars" in my DTV guide and the BBCA web site.

I was just channel surfing and stopped when I spotted Ellen Wong from Scott Pilgrim in the show. Didn't even realize it was the Sex and the City prequel. After Martha Jones from Doctor Who showed up, I decided to watch the rest of the episode. Not a terrible show, but not my cup of tea. The lead actress does a good job of channeling a young SJP, though her face is noticeably less equine. So... that's a plus.

A third season of "An Idiot Abroad" started on The Science Channel last night (Saturday, Jan 19). This is the comic travel show produced by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant featuring their sidekick Karl Pilkington, -this time he's joined by actor Warwick Davis. This one came completely out of the blue for me, -I thought they'd quit after Season Two ("The Bucket List").

Also, the PBS series "Pioneers of Television" started its third season Jan. 15 (though, being on PBS, I guess times and dates may vary). Its another four one-hour episodes taking a look at various TV genres; this year its "Funny Ladies", "TV Soaps", "Super-Heroes" and "Mini-series".
