I haven't seen it and frankly when I saw the trailer I chalked it up to the same Sifi crap they always throw out. But I listen to local sports talk radio and when it's brought up people seem to understand it's all cheese but loved it.
Am I missing something? Did anyone have fun with it? Or is it just awful?

As long as you know what you're getting into you can have fun with this. The fx, acting and plot is horrible but it delivers sharks and some great kills.

Re: Sharknado
Was only able to watch the first half hour tonight, will watch the rest tomorrow.
Pretty cool watching the Santa Monica pier destroyed. Funny how there was this insane gigantic storm rolling in, but there will still plenty of swimmers and sunbathers.
My favorite shot so far was a guy sitting on the sand, screaming, with one leg bitten off at the knee.
However, it was obvious that the missing leg was actually just buried in the sand. You know, like what you did at the beach when you were 7.

I watched the last 45 minutes of this tonight...now i want to cut a shark down the middle with a chainsaw as it zooms past my head.
My wife came in, watched 5 minutes of it and said, "I'm dumber for having watched this," and got up and left.

This wan't funny bad nor campy bad...it was just bad. Talk radio and the internet have been buzzing about this thing. It's pure shit. Not even worth watching for a laugh. So incompetently edited it blows my mind.
Piranah 3D from a few years back is 100x better than this piece of shit.

I thought they changed too much from the book.

Re: Sharknado
There was one moment of sheer genius in the film:
After they save the kids on the bus and the Sharknado starts up, it starts grabbing letters of the Hollywood sign, slinging them close to the teacher, who says "Mom always said Hollywood would kill me." This of course is followed by another piece of the sign crushing/slicing him.

That guy who was killed was actually a writer from Ain't it Cool News.

My favorite moment was when the son reacted to the girl getting eaten by a shark after falling out of a helicopter. It's on par with when I go for the Cheesy Chex Mix and there's none left, and I point up and go Nooooooo.

Regal Entertainment Group: We won't book films that play day-and-date on demand, but we'll book films that you could watch for free on SyFy and we'll charge you $13 to do so!

Lame. Pretty much just says we want to make a cash grab from hype.
Wonder who started the effort ... The Asylum or Regal calling The Asylum with a 'neat idea' ...

This movie's 15 minutes are nearing the finish line. When I read an article on this earlier today I was in shock, but then I realized anything for $$. Syfy better ride this until the rails fall off.

Agree. That should make a YouTube montage of some of the worst acting ever on film. Also, John Heard must really be hurting for money.
