I guess this is how they are going to include Castiel in this season's storyline, showing a bit of footage here and there from the time in Purgatory. Benny is an okay character and a needed change in direction, as the brothers have never really had a friend that was a monster before. I guess he's the replacement for Bobby and eventually Sam, if Sam decides to settle down.

I still think they missed an opportunity with the Levithan for the Winchesters to basically gather up a monster dirty dozen to fight them, so Benny seems kind of a step in that direction, which I like.

I actually really enjoyed this episode. I'd sign on for a Benny the Vampirate series. Better than the brother melodrama we've had the last few seasons, anyway.

Actually enjoyed this episode as well. But of course, one nitpick. When they were discussing how they would be able to escape Purgatory, i.e. Benny used to be human, Dean still is, wouldn't Castiel be able to escape also since he is an Angel in a HUMAN body? Or am I making too much of it?

Very enjoyable episode, especially because I could fast-forward through all of Sam's boring bullshit flashbacks and he wasn't featured in much of the rest of the show.
