Re: The X-Factor -- Season 2 -- The Live Shows Thread

I gotta say I only watch this show after its recorded, so the majority of it can be fast forwarded.

Khloe is fucking ridiculous. So we fast forward through her.

Britney is fucking useless. But we want to hear the judges feedback, so we get to hear her. That chick got paid 15 million, and she can't give one piece of constructive feedback.

AC slater is ok in my book. I can only imagine that dude has gotten some serious ass since god knows when.

The mentoring shit is dumb as fuck. It negates the purpose of having them be judges as well. It makes Simon Cowell be lame.

The acts are all way over produced. It's like they are really nobodies, but they are made to look like they are superstars. Now we got these nobodies acting like they matter when the don't. They should just sing.

Lyric 145 was only good when they did the Miley Cyrus cover song at Simons "house". They should have done more marketable stuff like that, instead of the more hardcore yelling rap that they proceeded to do each week since.

The Spanish chick from 1432 or 5th harmony always kept saying how life is tough and she lives with 20 family members in her house, but at the same time she had an IPhone with her at the audition. I wonder how much that family plan costs the taxpayers?

LA Reid..... it would be funny to see what that guy would look like without his glasses on, while wearing a wife beater and jean shorts. The dude would be a master of disguise.

I may or may not watch season 3. Most likely in a fast forward scenario like this season.

My fiancé and I have decided we will not watch American idol when it returns. Nicki Minaj and miriah carey are enough of a turnoff to make us not want to watch it. Does that make us racist?

Doubtful, we watched it with JLo judging and she didn't bug us like we expected. And this is even when my fiancé has a general distaste for Puerto Ricans.

I really had no idea who she was at the beginning of the season, but I grew to like Demi. I think, more than any other judge, she actually tried to be an honest broker with the other contestants (not hers obviously since it clearly must be against the rules to criticize your mentees). That's not to say that I always agreed with her, but I think Simon's "praise" of Cece Frey also applied to Demi; Demi tried.

Seriously, how many talent competitions do we need? If they cancelled this show, would anyone even notice?

I'd guess at least some of the millions who watch and vote would notice. There are multiple shows because not everyone likes the same thing. You're supposed to skip the ones you don't like.

I'm def out on Idol. Whether the Carey/Minaj Drama was real or produced, I'm not interested. Also, I don't respect Minaj as an artist. It's not that I don't like her music, which I don't, it's that I think she is a manufactured artist.

Calling her an "artist" is very generous of you.

If it was Randy, Urban and Mariah, I probably would stay on.. but after the crapfest of x-factor, I can't take anymore look at me-first judging...

May be 'who cares' updates at this point, but:

Simon has signed Fifth Harmony.

Also, Tate Stevens has officially signed his record deal.

Re: The X-Factor -- Season 2 -- The Live Shows Thread

I would have expected news about Simon signing the One Direction, but it makes sense to give 5th Harmony a go given they finished better. Of course the real test for all of them is what kind of music they end up putting out.

I've listened to 2 songs from Chris Rene so far, but I don't think I've really heard from anyone else from Season 1. Chris not only has at least 2 songs, but at least 2 videos. They need to get some of these acts performing on talk shows, etc. And they need to get the news out in the press so people like me who don't normally watch shows will tune into them to see the acts (which helps the artist and the show).
