Diff'rent Strokes - scenes that seem out of step for the show
Synopsis for an episode from Season 5:
Arnold's confrontation with the son of the new building landlord leads to Mr. Drummond punching the landlord in the face, and almost gets the family thrown out of the building.
I don't know, but just picturing it sounds like all kinds of awesome!!

The crossover with WKRP where Mr. Carlson showed up and tried to fuck Arnold and Dudley always seemed kind of weird. Wonder what Venus Flytrap would think.

I remember they had Willis saying wiseguy comment to Mr. Drummond and Dudley's father, when the two fathers are commenting on how they smell liquor on Arnold and Dudley's breath, and Mr. Drummond says his typical "I am disappointed," followed by, "they're only babies!"
Then Willis pipes in: "Yeah, going from the nipple to the ripple."

Mr. Drummond gets amnesia again, and thinks he's a conservative doctor living next to a loud liberal woman who looks like Beatrice Arthur.

If they didn't tell me it was Alan Thicke singing the theme song, I'd have sworn it was sung by a black guy. I think Thicke is intentionally trying to sound black, as he must be a racist.

The bike shop pedo episode wasn't really out of step with the show. They did a whole bunch of Very Special Episodes, especially toward the end. Drugs, racism, rape, kidnapping, etc.

Re: Diff'rent Strokes - scenes that seem out of step for the show
I watched both parts of the pedo eps last nite
Overall, they were very well done, the actor Gordon Jump i think it was who played the pedo was excellent.
What i found creepy was the show played like a normal comedy for most of it, not sure if there was a live audience or a laughter track, but hearing the audience laugh along as the pedo joked with the two boys didn't sit well with me.
How the pedo went about his trade i thought was very well done, the gifts, the wine, the photos, the erotic cartoons etc
