Wow what a great premiere episode! I really can't believe how far they've already gone with what Deb knows. Obviously we knew she saw him kill Travis but I really didn't expect them to have her find out that he's killed before and have Dexter admit that he's a serial killer. This season should be great!

Not sure if you're being serious or not, but I did tag what I wrote in spoilers which is up to people to click on at their own risk. Plus not to mention what I wrote was essentially hinted at in this episode anyways..

I may be remembering wrong, but didn't Dexter hide the fact that he and the Ice Truck Killer were brothers? If not, how did Deb find out?

Her entire subplot in season 4 revolved around her investigating Harry & The Ice Truck killer case and finding out that Dexter was his brother. It was literally half the storyline of that entire season.

I'm a bit sketchy on some of the details but she found out back in season four. She found out that Harry had been cheating on their mother with some of his criminal informants. It ended up that one of the informants he had cheated with was Dexter's and Brian's mother and she pieced it together from there.

Great start.

Maybe the company paid to have it there. Maybe the producers just realizes what everyone else thinks. Fake products really stand out, so to make the world more 'real', they just used a real thing.

Great start to the season, right off the bat we have Deb know the situation. Now I want her to find out that he was the one helping Lumen.

Louis continues to be a weird dude, I forget, what was Dexter's reaction to being sent the mannequin hand? He just received it out of the blue from his perspective right?

Excellent Start! No word on the Serial Killer for the season tho..

They killed off replacement Doakes so soon? Wonder if he has a new show coming out or something. not like anyone cares about his character.

Also I don't think Dexter ever actually saw the hand, I know he got the box, but that's it.

Great start to the new season. I didn't expect Deb to find out so quickly. I hope the Russian mafia story don't drag on. I am more interested in Dexter/Deb storyline and the intern storyline.

Interesting that most of the storylines are direct continuations of stories that began last season.

Color me underwhelmed.

The lazy writing - such as the whole airport/kill room scene - is popping up early and harkens back to some of the worst of the entire series. Syringes through security? No problem. Lost luggage room access? No problem. Killing a guy at an airport? No problem. Convenient surfboard bag to dispose of body? No problem. I would have preferred that he actually fly to Kiev and kill the guy there. Ugh...

The Deb scenario - especially that last scene - can either be great for the show or a real shark-jumping moment. I'll still watch to see how it plays out, I just hope for the best.

Count me in too as someone glad they didn't drag out Deb finding out the truth about Dexter. Also liked the swerve that made it appear he was going on the run in the beginning of the episode but had it turn out rather differently than it first appeared.

Color me surprised about Deb finding it all out so soon... liked it, liked the speed at which the season got off to...

Perplexed by the airport killing... with everyone in the cop killers circle knowing where he was supposed to be etc... and with the abundance of cameras EVERYWHERE... seemed pretty foolish of Dex to do that there

I hate to say this, but as someone that worked for an airline, getting around in the "authorized personnel only" areas really isn't that hard. And no, there aren't cameras everywhere.

Airports are guarded by the dumbest and greediest people in the world.

I did not expect Deb to ransack Dexter's place after she put the pieces together. And then Dex's confession to top it off really was icing on the cake. Should be interesting to see the torment she goes through this season.

I'm a little surprised that Anderson wasn't more cautious when checking out the guy with the flat tire. I don't recall if he had his firearm on him when he left his car, but if he was armed, he should have pulled it out right away inside of acting stunned and subsequently getting killed. That was careless on his part.

He wasn't checking out the guy though. He was just helping him with his flat. He had no reason to even think he'd need his firearm until he opened the trunk. Then it was too late.

At first I was pretty shocked about the Deb reveal, I didn't expect that until the last season. But seeing the previews... I'm not too thrilled with the direction. Looks like Deb will be covering up for Dex and that's not really what I hoped to see.

What did you hope to see? Deb turn him in? In that scenario, what's the rest of the season and Season 8? Dexter as Kung Fu traveling the earth and terminally righting wrongs all along his path. No, I'm not ascribing that scenario to you. It's just what comes to my mind if Deb turns him in. There are only 2 choices I see... turn him in or cover for him.

Usually, nobody knows it's Dexter who did it. The closest was the son of the John Lithgow character.
