Re: The Office -- "Roy's Wedding" -- 9/27/12

I thought last week was a decent start. Nothing LOL worthy but a good set up for the season.

Sounds like we'll have Roy back for an episode. One of my favorite characters from the early seasons.

I'm hoping that this being the final season they'll bring back a few old faces to wrap them up as a "where are they?" deal. It should keep the episodes fresh.

Re: The Office -- "Roy's Wedding" -- 9/27/12

For an episode titled Roy's Wedding they sure didn't show much of...Roy's Wedding. Using it as a cheap way of showing Jim and Pam's complacency instead of some actual fun stuff was not the way to go.

I was honestly shocked that the writers remembered that Roy and Daryl were friends and worked in the warehouse together, so they get credit for that touch.

And is Clark really that out there? Is he the strangler? Seriously somebody keep an eye on that weirdo.

Yeah, that was a train wreck of non-funny. It was simply dreadful. The thing w/Erin was horrible. The thing with Dwight was idiotic. It was all un-funny, though I did chuckle, slightly, when Daryl said he liked Scarface because he was black. But that's IT. Ugh.

hmm.. wonder if you are on to something. Is clark the guy with the glasses?.. I was thinking the other new guy might be him

- he's quiet, and this episode has lulled the audience into a false sense of security that he is a genuine, honest, and nice guy who helped get Erin out of that weird situation..

However that shot at the end, with both of them at the diner, sets up a romantic angle for them or that he could be the strangler and erin and andy will be the ones to expose him in some sort of Scooby Do esqe way.

Re: The Office -- "Roy's Wedding" -- 9/27/12

The Dwight/Nellie stuff was terrible.

The news anchor stuff wasn't that bad. Not really all that funny but I thought Andy injected some life into the plot line.

Roy's wedding was the highlight. I really wish they showed more of it. I might have missed something but I don't really get why Roy invited his ex fiance and the guy who stole her away to his wedding. Still, the wedding stuff was funny.

"Andy thinks I like Godfather because I'm black. No. I like the Godfather because I'm a cinephile.... I like Scarface because I'm black."

Re: The Office -- "Roy's Wedding" -- 9/27/12

I think Roy invited them so he could flaunt his success. He also made mention of 'dodging a bullet' with Pam, which kind of rubbed it in, even though he indicated he was joking.

I thought it was a nice little wrap-up for Roy's character.

The rest of the stuff, however, was pretty bad, Nellie/Dwight in particular.

A bit of humour with the Erin stuff, and she looked pretty hot in that dress.

Man, I thought this episode was the best thing they've done in ages.

Creed: The Taliban is terrible. Great, heroin, though.

I don't know: Roy as a kind, sensitive, rich guy? He was always such a first-rate jerk, I just found it stupid. I could see him being rich and still a jerk (if not worse), but this fell flat for me.

I never thought of Roy as a jerk. He always seemed like a generally good guy that just took Pam for granted. He never cheated on her or hurt her, he just didn't treat her as well as he should have.

The longest relationship I've been in lasted 6 months and even I know that you shouldn't be telling your wife that.

Re: The Office -- "Roy's Wedding" -- 9/27/12

Will The Office be remembered for its greatness, a la Cheers or The Mary Tyler Moore Show
or

will it be remembered as having a 75 percent good run with a terrible last season, like Roseanne?

What will its legacy be?

75% is being kind. The first two seasons were classic. Season 3 was great. Season 4 was good. Then it was just downhill from there. That's 50%.

I think it'll go down as Friends. Good show with a ton of quality episodes but fell apart after awhile.
