Seth MacFarlane making first live action TV show
Per the Hollywood Reader:
"At one point, Seth MacFarlane approached 20th Century Fox (the home of his "Family Guy," "American Dad" and "Cleveland Show") to finance his "Ted" movie. The studio turned him down, but Universal Pictures quickly stepped in. The film went on to gross $408 million on a $50 million budget.
Fox won't let that mistake happen again, which is why the network has ordered a pilot episode for MacFarlane's first live-action TV show, a comedy that revolves around two successful guys in their 30s and the insanity that ensues after their crazy fathers unexpectedly move in with them.
The show will be written by Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild (Ted, "Family Guy," "Cleveland Show"), while MacFarlane is on board to executive produce. The only way Fox was able to get the rights to the show was to agree to pay MacFarlane a hefty sum of money if they don't like the pilot and pass on it."

Cue the "this sounds terrible", "I hate Seth MacFarlane/Family Guy/everything he does" comments

I don't blame him as much as I blame Fox for letting him take over their Sunday night. He is talented. I saw that during his SNL appearance.
At the same time, how retarded is their movie studio? To think they actually passed on Ted.

I do think MacFarlane can be funny but I also agree that he just has too much going on and it gets repetitive. Ted was really funny and Family Guy has it's moments but overall I get sort of tired of it. Never really watched American Dad or The Cleveland Show. I think it would be interesting if he were to try something else and go a different route than comedy.
