Re: MTV The Challenge - Battle of the Seasons 09/19/2012

Everyone in the house also just saw Camilla go off on her own teammate Brandon not too long ago too, so I imagine even all the newbie's there think she's wacko. Still, I agree that I found it hard to blame her reaction to Eric just giving up like that. Who knows what kind of health he was in, but it's one thing to keep trying even though you can barely do anything until the other team actually beats you, it's another to just say "fuck it, i'm done" in the middle of it all.

I think i'm rooting for Sarah too. I haven't been the biggest fan of hers in the past, but this time around something about her confidence going into all those matches and duels with a smile on her face and no complaints just make it easy to want her to succeed, especially with Brooklyn being such a target for everyone else. I really just want to see Knight and Frank lose.

Re: MTV The Challenge - Battle of the Seasons 09/19/2012

You know, and it's not just that MTV brought back the useless Big Easy, it's that he accepted.

I know it's easy to sit back on my sofa and make judgments, but I wouldn't sign up for this or Survivor or TAR race and EVER quit. If I catch some strange life threatening disease and they need to take me out, so be it.

But I'd rather come close to drowning than quit like that and I say that knowing that it was his choice to participate and Big Easy knows all too well that some challenges are going to be tough on him. I'm afraid of things like heights a bit, but I'd never not do a challenge.

Maybe that's why I felt for Camilla today even though a) she's always been unnecessarily rude to people and b) her looks are vastly over-rated. The fact is she went on this show and did the one thing I care most about. She competed with everything she had and then some. I LOVE it when people want to be somewhere so bad that they lose it if their partner quits.

You don't have to even like each other. If Camilla had been mean to me from day 1, I'd never quit. She's still my teammate no matter what and I have my own pride.

That was not like Laurel (sp?) ripping Eric apart on his physical appearance and all things personal when she was drunk. That was wrong on every level.

I don't know what got edited about, but if I saw the passion and fight of Camilla while in the game, at least for a short time, I'd give her a total pass on having a bit of a tantrum, because I'd be more impressed with her desire to stay, to compete and to win.

Re: MTV The Challenge - Battle of the Seasons 09/19/2012

I agree with the above. While Camilla overall has many issues and may not be likeable or even a good person, there is no denying she is a competitor who gives everything she has every time.

I think Big Easy got everything he deserved (and hopefully more that was edited). I have zero respect for him as a competitor or as a person. If you do some research into the Laurel situation, while yes she did go overboard he started it initially then cried like a bitch when she came back with such vehemence. Then even after she addresses it and apologizes he refuses to let it go the continually brings it up to gain sympathy and press. There were a lot of the other housemates who agreed with Laurel fighting back but because of politics and public/media persona issues wouldn’t say it. He should never be allowed on another challenge. He brings nothing. He can't compete unless it is a very specific type of challenge (brute strength/size related - even on the challenge he got so much praise for he only did well because he was alone. If he had to do it with a partner he wouldn't have lasted at all), he is a quitter, he doesn’t have a good personality nor is he funny or interesting in his talking heads. One of the worst challengers in history.

They really should have gotten Kenny or Evan instead of Big Easy. Maybe they couldn't do it...

Yeah until the lawsuit is finished you wont see either of them back on a challenge.

Its easy to root for Sarah now along with everyone else in Brooklyn. The douche squad isn't involved this year (Kenny, Evan, Laurel, and the rest of that group) so she's not hanging out with them like she normally does and therefore being subject to a better edit.

As for Camilla, she's just pissed off for the same reason. She doesn't have Johnny Bananas and the rest of that same clique to hide behind/work with and they all seem surprised that at some point the newbies would be able to create the same strategy and work it against the rest of them.

Because they actually think because they've been on the Challenge for so long, they really should just be handed the pathway to the Finals.

Agree with every dolphinboy says. Couldn't have said any of it better.

Interesting exit interview with Cara Maria:

http://www.ology.com/post/218982/-ba...okies-strategy

She gives the rookies props for their alliance, realizing that it sucks that she's not part of it but knows that it's a numbers thing and that the rookies outnumbered the vets.

She also doesn't hold back on Big Easy. Doesn't say anything personal but just says that he sucks at these things and no one wants to be on his team. Apparently Laurel and Ev were asked to be on the Fresh Meat team and turned it down when they heard Easy would be on their team. She also admits that she was ready to go home when she went into the arena because she knew that the team wouldn't win with Easy.

Agreed. Chet and Camilla have been very annoying with that. They think that just because they've been there before they can coast. If they were in the power clique they'd be happy but since they're not it's completely unfair. It's pretty pathetic.

I don't know most of these new guys either but I think a few of them are good personalities (for the show that is). I'm pretty excited to see new blood rather than guys like Johnny Bananas who has essentially turned this into a career.

You think Chet is coasting by? By going into 2 arenas? It never came across to me that he thinks he should be handed anything. I think anyone would be annoyed if they were continously the ones going in.

I don't think he's coasting by. I think he WANTS to be coasting by in a power alliance. He was one of them that was complaining earlier in the season about how the rookies aren't playing the game right because it's the rookies that are supposed to be going into the arena every time.

He can be annoyed all he wants, just don't say it's unfair. If he was on the flip side of things, which he has been, he'd wouldn't be sympathetic at all.

And when you think that's how the game is supposed to be played, with the rookies always going in with the vets sitting around as I said coasting to the finals, a season like this always more then welcome to remind them that life doesn't work like that.

LOL and maybe they should look for a real job rather then as said with Johnny Bananas, make the Challenge your definition of having a career.

I used to always think of Alton as a bad ass machine on these challenges, so its weird that he's been a whiny bitch the whole time so far.

Frank is such a douche, I hope their team doesn't win this thing.

I think the only reason I am still checking this out is because of Frank. He takes being an obnoxious douchebag a$$hole to a whole new level, and I watch in the hope that something awful happens to him.

He's making Johnny Bananas look like a great guy. Speaking of Johnny, he posted a shopped Expendables 2 poster for the Vets coming back next summer to clean house.

Yeah I've definitely lost a lot of respect for Alton this challenge. So much for "Alton 2.0" like he said at the start. Frank is a douche but it was impressive he was the one pulling his team on that chariot instead of Zach and finished second despite pulling probably 50 more lbs than CJ.

The previews for the rest of the season look pretty awesome. Looked like Zach and CJ going head to head in that strength challenge and more Frank being a douche.

Zack, despite looking like Thor, doesn't seem to be the best athlete. Im curious to see how he does if he makes the final challenge.

Knight is a lot of fun to watch. "Victory sex tonight!"

Re: MTV The Challenge - Battle of the Seasons 09/19/2012

Frank and to a lesser extent Zach are two of the worst human beings to have been on this show ever. Considering the way Frank and Zach act on twitter and Zach's recent admission of sucker punching then beating down Big Easy at some event makes me hope they never are asked back. If they are, I pray that people like Kenny, Evan, Johnny, and CT are there because somehow I don't think they will let those 2 losers get away with what they have been. While all of those guys can be assholes and jerks, at least they are entertaining and for the most part seem to be decent outside of these challenges. I am going on the innocent until PROVEN guilty with regards to Kenny and Evan and the Tonya situation. Since it was settled we will never know the truth but if real proof was ever released, then obviously they would take the titles from Frank and Zach.

Until that point as much as I dislike JEK in general, they are entertaining and realize the value of said entertainment. Same with Wes. Yes comes off as a total asshole, but is also fun to watch and from what people say outside of the show is a true friend who would be there for his friends in a heartbeat. He understands it is a TV show and plays up his asshole side to get airtime and to just have fun. I think for the most part same with JEK. Frank and Zach however I dont think they are playing at all and that is who they are at the core.

While I agree he was being whiny, I sort of get why he was. The generation gap has officially kicked in with him.

He's in his 30's, he's there for the competition, and can't believe how childish the 20 year olds are acting while they're there. He can no longer relate to that lifestyle.

Re: MTV The Challenge - Battle of the Seasons 09/19/2012

I can't believe I made it through this entire season. Honestly, I think it was only b/c Brooklyn stuck around, and I was rooting for them by default for most of the season.

For as bad as some of the past contestants have been, Frank might be the biggest douche nozzle in the history of the challenge. I honestly can't think of anyone worse. I'd root for a team comprised of CT (from five years ago), Eric Nies, Wes, and Johnny Bananas from the Island season before I would ever root for a team with Frank and Zach.

In other news, I listened to Derrick's podcast with Evan and Susie from the beginning of the year, and they had some interesting tidbits on behind the scenes stuff. FYI, Susie was asked if she was available for this season, but she was 8 months pregnant at the time. A few weeks ago on Susie's podcast, Sarah basically called Alton a poseur.

Over many seasons, you and I have often exchanged our opinions throughout an entire challenge and this time, I'll let your words pretty much speak for me. I was so overwhelmed by how much I hated most of these people, I think I only thought about posting once or twice and didn't have the energy to look for the thread.

I also wanted Brooklyn to win, mostly because of Sarah, but I must admit the only surprise for me was that I actually like Trishelle for much of the season.

Other than that, this one was difficult to get through and I really hope to never see Frank and Zach again, which means they'll probably be back over and over again.

Finally, I can't believe you've been holding out on me about podcasts with Susie. I knew you were jealous of us, but I didn't think you'd be this bitter.

Frank sucks as a human being. I also didn't know he was gay. (Never watched his season). Also took me a few episodes to decide that Sam was a woman. Early on, it could of gone either way.

Devon is pathetic. She was actually acting all tough in the reunion. That was hard to watch after watching her performance in the final mission. She also dates older men who collect social security? Wtf is that about.

Can't believe I'm saying this but it's time to bring the band back - Bananas, Evan, CT, Kenny, etc to put down this new menace of Frank/Zach. And by Frank/Zach I mean Frank. The guy is so hyper-egotistically fragile I would actually fear (and hope) for a complete mental breakdown if that season happens. It would be hilariously satisfying to watch.

I think the last final challenge was much harder and more interesting to watch.

Agreed. I truely believe if I ever saw that guy in person I would just punch him in the face. No words exchanged. Just a punch.
