Revolution -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 9/04/12 (Hulu), 9/17/12 (NBC)

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
What would you do without it all? In this epic adventure from J.J. Abrams' Bad Robot Productions and "Supernatural's" Eric Kripke, a family struggles to reunite in an American landscape void of electricity: a world of empty cities, local militias and heroic freedom fighters, where every single piece of technology -- computers, planes, cars, phones, even lights -- has mysteriously blacked out forever.

Created by Eric Kripke (Supernatural)
Produced by Kripke and JJ Abrams
Pilot Directed by Jon Favreau

Starring:
Billy Burke (Twilight Saga)
Elizabeth Mitchell (V, Lost)
Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad)
Tracy Spiridakos (Being Human)
David Lyons (The Cape, ER)
Tim Guinee (Iron Man 1 and 2, The Good Wife)
Daniella Alonso (Friday Night Lights)

Posting this thread now because it premieres today (9/4) on Hulu/Hulu Plus and NBC.com. If you want to watch it 2 weeks early here you go.

This is the full Pilot episode:

I will bump this thread again on the 17th for those who are waiting until it airs on TV. If your choosing to watch now, as a courtesy, post any detailed plot points in spoilers until the official premiere date.

Well it's certainly very Abramsy. I like the setting and think it has promise but it concerns me we kick this whole thing off with

I love the concept and I'm looking forward to this, but am I the only one worried about the fact this is a serialized scifi show on NBC? They have debuted a number of genre shows but since Heroes few last beyond a season - The Event, The Cape, Awake, Kings, Persons Unknown...

But Grimm finally bucked this trend. Maybe this is a sign of things turning around?

Well, this is right up my alley...if it's good. Think I'll watch it on Hulu via my big screen later.

Didn't like it. Amateur acting. Cheap sets. Pretty unrealistic concept when you have people running around with perfect haircuts and neatly pressed clothing.

And the ending was a total rip off of one of the major early plot points of Lost.

Are you calling Giancarlo Esposito an amateur? How dare you!!

I might watch this later tonight on Hulu Plus through my HDTV/Xbox 360.

He was pretty average here, tbh. It's the material - even the decent actors are hindered by it.

No it wasn't.

Anyway that ending.
Spoiler:
The person on the other end asked if they found it. Now if they were talking about that device that fired p the computer obviously they didn't or how would she have fired up the computer?

If anything it reminded me of Jericho's twist. I thought it was okay.

It may not have been an exact retelling of that plot point but, yes, it is ripoff central.

I thought the pilot was pretty solid and I'll give the show a shot. I can see a few characters that have the potential to be annoying though.

Also available on Comcast On Demand.

Haven't checked it out yet but will probably do so in the next few days.

For them constantly talking about how dangerous the road is, maybe they should have set up some type of watch when they holed up in the airplane Gonna give it a few more episodes, as I was intrigued by the plot and the episode was okay, but it isn't anywhere near as suspenseful as Jericho was.

In the Emberverse the planet lost all electric and also chemical energy that made explosives. So they had no power and no way to make guns or explosives work. Is that true here or can they use chemical energy for weapons?

So reading here, it seems it's available almost everywhere, so we should be able to watch it in the "big" screen, right? (With big screen I mean TV, of course)

I just watched it via comcast on demand. I loved it. My only minor problem is with the lead actress. She's not a great actress, but she is nice to look at. Looking forward to see how the next few episodes turn out. It has The Voice as its lead in so ratings should hopefully be decent.

Re: Revolution -- Series Premiere -- "Pilot" -- 9/04/12 (Hulu), 9/17/12 (NBC)

I didn't hate it, but it wasn't nearly as original or intriguing as I'd hoped script-wise.

I'm on the fence, and will probably wait to see what ratings or reviews are like before sampling again.

I'd rather wait a year and catch up later if it's a success than waste the time on the show if it gets cancelled or doesn't improve any.
