Well played, Groucho. Well played.

I can't remember, has there been any mention of the Scranton Strangler since Season 7. I remember at the time being sure it was going to turn out to be DeAngelo (since Will Ferrell obviously had to leave the show at some point). Not sure I care to revisit this story now. The Office is light and introducing a storyline about murder is kind of a bummer.

The show was doing fine, it has enough jokes I laugh at and I like all the characters. It's this obsession with romance that killed the show. The Jim and Pam stuff was beautifully done, but Michael's romance with Holly wasn't as touching, and the Andy/Erin romance is even less so. Is the whole audience in high school? Can't there be a show that isn't about people trying to get into a relationship be being twarted week after weak-ass week by poor communication and idiotic choices.

Finally. This is a sad, sad version of a really great show. Not sure how it lasted past the pilot.

I know this was meant as a bit of a joke, but in all seriousness, I'm not entirely sure how it did make it beyond the pilot. The first episode was just a really bad rehash of the original. I watched for two episodes and dropped the show, thinking it was absolutely awful. I revisited it in season 2 quite on accident only to discover that it had developed into a top-notch comedy. That's the only reason why I granted Parks and Rec a stay of execution during its early days. I'm glad I did, too. :)

Last season was putrid, can't imagine them coming up with anything worth watching this year.

The show has fallen so far. I kinda wish the final season was only 13 episodes. Easier to justify watching them all.

We complain, yet we still watch.

I'm not sad it's ending. It's run its course. Last season was pretty bad, but I really don't have any shows that I watch anymore. Will be interesting to see how they wrap it up, although I'm not anticipating a satisfying finale.

Looks like we can look forward to another 9 seasons of Dwight, though!

Also I'm fine with Michael not returning. He had a fitting send off, it'd be silly to bring him back a season later. However, if they do, I'm gonna say it'll be for his and Holly's wedding. Finale!

Do you not give any other new comedy a chance? There's more on TV than just Gordon Ramsay in the summer. There's quite a few good new comedies that have launched in the last 2-3 years outside of The Office.

Just saw in the TV Line story that Ed Helms, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer will be credited as "Producers" this season. Translation= Huge salary bump and vanity credit.

I really don't want to see the documentary filmmakers. I wish they wouldn't address that at all. They certainly never did in the beginning.

With Office and 30 Rock gone...maybe this spells better luck for Community and Parks and Rec?

Also, just had a thought, is that picture of Dwight with Bryan Cranston a picture from the series? Maybe Cranston plays one of the filmmakers.

Cranston is directing an episode this season.

Everyone can bitch about the series but I totally expect all of you will be posting in each episodes thread, proving you are watching no matter how good/bad it is.

It was bad cause the stars left the show to go do more movies cause you guys were making the movies they were doing hits.

While it's certainly time for the show to go, the quality has stayed pretty high, especially compared to what's come and gone on the sitcom scene in 9 years.

If anyone thinks anything better is coming to replace it, prepare to be disappointed.

I was definitely joking, but I agree with you. I watched the first season and thought it was horrible. Michael came across as kinda mean spirited to me, not nearly bumbling enough. He was so unlikable, I stopped watching and didn't get back until the show was in syndication and like you, I discovered it had gotten pretty damn funny in season 2 and 3.

NBC already has the Michael J. Fox sitcom lined up for fall 2013. I'm sure that it could end up being their big Thursday night show. But Parks & Rec and Community's future probably depends on how some of the other new NBC sitcoms do this season.

Does it make me cool or not cool that I've actually never seen a single episode of the Office. I'm shocked it's been on 9 seasons already.

That's because it's only been on for 8 seasons, which is less shocking.

Not seeing pre-season 5 episodes makes you uncool. Missing everything after that makes you cool. You're 5/8ths cool.

It was a good and fairly enjoyable show to watch for the first three seasons or so I thought. To me season four was when it started to get pretty rocky and the episodes became really hit and miss. I stopped watching all together in season five. I've thought about going back and watching the others (at least until Carell left) but haven't bothered with it yet.

It seems to me like after a while they just started running out of good ideas and Michael just kept getting wackier and wackier to the point the character was just not that funny anymore. Same thing happened with Dwight but maybe not as bad. Jim and Pam were a big part of the early seasons to me, it was kind of a cliche romance storyline but it was still well done I thought.
