I love this season! It has been just fantastic to me. I do not want it to end.
Tonight's episode had a lot of great moments. Russell drunk on fairy blood, Eric's double stake, Jessica & Jason working together, Pam taking the blame for Tara... good times. I was very sad when the episode ended, I wanted it to just keep on going.
I am really looking forward to next week; it looks like it is going to be wild. I hope all my favorites make it out ok, and I just have NO idea what they are going to do with Bill. He has really crossed over.
Who the fuck is Luna?

I don't think I've ever rooted for a bad guy like I do Russell. That whole ending I was like "please don't die, please not die, please don't die"
Nice play with that big ole Jason as a vamp red herring.
The scene with Alcide vs the baby vamps was pretty cool too.

Loved it! They should have had some of this stuff going on at the start of the season.
What did he use to stake those vamps? It happens so fast--I backed up my DVR and watched it twice more. All I can see is that he grabs something off the steering wheel. Were there wooden stakes attached to the wheel?

That was awesome, love the preggers fairy coming back. Loved Eric/Nora getting out. Lots of cool moments.
In the preview for next week it looks like Jason

This show has really regained its stride in the last few episodes.
I keep forgetting Eric can fly. That caught me completely by surprise when they both Superman-ed off the street (I totally call bullshit on them not being covered in gore, with Eric staking two vamps in an enclosed space, though).
Even Alcide, who is normally worthless, was pretty entertaining this episode. Am I mis-remembering, or is Alcide's werewolf dad living in a "silver bullet" Airstream trailer? If so, that's pretty clever.

True Blood kills off another former Veronica Mars cast member this season! We already mentioned Mac (her Veronica Mars character name) getting killed in a previous episode. Then I got all excited when I noticed that the ancient fairy was played by none other than Wallace's mom! I figured she would last a little bit longer, though.
I've enjoyed the last couple of episodes so much more than earlier in the season. This show really does a lot better when it's not getting bogged down so much by all the B stories. It needs to keep the focus on one main story.

Another really good episode. Depending on how the season ends, this will probably be the best or second-best season yet.

I hope Russell kills all the faeries (except Sookie, of course). I'd like to see the season end with him becoming the first "day walker".
Did anyone else pick up on the TWIN PEAKS homages in last night's show (which was directed by TWIN PEAKS alum Lesli Linka Glatter)? Red drapes for the entrance/exit to the fairy world/stoplight turning from red to green. Probably a few more I missed.

Given the deceased general guy mentioned specifically how humans own the day or something to that effect, it wouldn't surprise me at all if the season ended with Russell terrorizing people in some daytime setting.

that would be great. I'd hate to lose Edgington so soon after getting him back.

In past seasons, the finale always did the double tasks of (1) wrapping up some main storylines, and also (2) setting up stuff for next season (usually with some cliffhangers).
This season, though, I'm not sure which ones will get wrapped up next week, or which ones will be still left hanging for next season.

I actually think the way they've strung along Russell in an attempt to keep him alive has been weak. In this episode they forced a stupid character move just to justify him lasting another episode, i,e, the elder faerie changing the plan and facing him alone.

I halfway expect we'll find out that if a vamp eats enough fairie blood, he becomes human again. I can see Russell gorging on the fairies, then getting a nasty surprise.

That would be great, or that he loses his vampire powers or something like that. That would explain the old fairy sacrifice.

Either Russell turning into a daywalker or losing his powers would be interesting developments.
Just as long as he doesn't die. I am not ready to lose him, the show is so much more fun when he's around.

I don't want Russell to be a daywalker. That's dangerously close to Smith taking over the whole Matrix. Becoming human/losing his powers is something I hadn't thought of, and would be a satisfying twist.

Russell is the best. I absolutely love the way he uttered his last lines. Almost in tears and trembling with blood lust. So well acted.
