I thought the movie was funny, but the cartoon had me rolling on the floor. I laughed so hard, I think I woke up my neighbors.

I'm mixed on it, some of it is funny, other bits are forced and unfunny.

Re: Black Dynamite on Cartoon Network

I think the show has a few too many bleeps.

I've had too many moments watching the show where I couldn't tell what was going on due to all the bleeping. It's one thing if you're bleeping once in a line of dialogue, but there's many times where it's bleep bleep bleepin bleep. Honestly I think it has more bleeps than any other show I've ever watched.

Other than that, I think it's pretty funny looking at black icons from the 70s and how many have fallen. The Michael Jackson episode was hilarious, as was the O.J. Simpson episode this week.

As a HUGE fan of the film, I've been watching this. Not rabidly, though, because some of the bits are just too ridiculous. Just because animating it gives you a license to literally do anything, it doesn't mean you should. And they repeat too many funny lines and bits from the film.

But I love having anything else in BD's universe that I can get, so I will say in that respect I've been enjoying it.

Re: Black Dynamite on Cartoon Network

I love the movie, but have only seen the first couple episodes of the cartoon. Honestly, I'm not liking it all that much. It's given me some laughs, but not many. And I think it would've been much better if it was more along the lines of the movie and used low budget '70s-inspired animation (including intentional flaws) rather than anime.

But maybe that's just me not being able to separate the toon from the movie.

I had the same problem with the Boondocks. I found the strip amusing, but didn't care for the show.

Big fan of the movie, but I'm not feeling the show. Watched the first few episodes, didn't do much for me.

Wow, I forgot all about this show. I had to visit [adult swim] OnDemand to catch up on the first three episodes. So far, I'm impressed. Spontaneous, perverse, over-the-top action comedy with '70s blaxploitation flair.

So far we've seen lampooning on interracial porn, Richard Pryor, Michael Jackson, and O.J. Simpson. In future episodes I'd like to see the crazy antics of James Brown, Rick James, and even Whitney Houston.

Can't do Whitney, its set in the 70's. Donna Summer maybe.

One of my friends was like "I want them to take on Reggie Jackson!"
