Someone called the twist weeks ago. I do think it was obvious.

Yeah, kind of saw the big twist coming. This means we've got kissing cousins (legally, anyway). I liked this episode, but I'm disappointed there was no big cliffhanger. More than any other show, this show is known for its season-ending cliffhangers, so I was expecting one to "blow me away" as TNT hyped... something to join the ranks of "Who shot J.R?," "Who's dead in the Southfork pool?," "Who shot Bobby?" and "Who'll survive the Southfork fire?" Oh well. I was surprised, though, when that whole team of people suddenly showed up to clean up the mess at the beginning, and I was surprised at what Ann did to Harris.

I guess the only cliffhanger is: when can I buy this season on blu-ray so I can add it to my collection?

re: no cliffhanger

When they filmed this, they didn't know there'd be a second season.

They should have shot something, just in case.

Yeah, I was one of the ones who called it from the first episode Cliff Barnes was in. Don't name a character (Rebecca) after another character's (Cliff's) mother if you don't want the old die-hard fans making a connection. BTW, if they REALLY wanted us blown-away, Victoria Principal should have come off the plane...that would have been awesome. I think seeing Cliff was anti-climatic, since we'd already seen him in a couple of shows...had they not used him at all before last night, it would have been more of a "wow!" moment.

Regardless, pretty solid finale. Glad to see it's coming back in January...thought we might have to wait a whole year.

JR telling Bobby "I love you" was a great moment.

That would have been awesome....yeah Cliff was obvious there, since that connection was made last episode (although not the daddy/daughter). But while not a cliffhanger, a very good episode in the Dallas saga.

For surpises like Cliff, they really, really need to keep guest stars' names out of the opening credits.

Agreed! I never understood why they're listed in the opening credits if their appearance is meant to be kept secret. Bizarre.

I know she's had a shady past, but having Winston Wolf on speed dial seems a bit much

and now I get to the end so maybe it isn't as strange

Larry Hagman looks like he is on deaths doorstep to me... I hope they get a few seasons out of this reboot.

Newcomers, sure. But old time fans will constantly get these "surprise" appearances spoiled.

I finally watched the finale. I figured out the twist earlier in the season.

They should have shown Cliff earlier in the episode without revealing he was Rebecca's daddy. Maybe then viewers who had caught his name in the opening credits would have thought that was going to be his only appearance in the episode. By not showing him for nearly the whole hour, though, it was obvious he had to appear in one of the final scenes. The writers didn't plan the surprise very well.

Re: Dallas -- Season Finale -- "Revelations" -- 8/08/12

Just finished this tonight. Have been playing catch up on a few shows.

Anyways, very solid season finale. Who were we kidding, no way John Ross was going to get some happy fairy tale ending with Elena. I liked how the whole situation with Marta Del Sol blew up in his and JR's face.

Alot of very soap opera moments. Overall, it's cool to have a night time soap like this back on the air. Should be interesting to see how it does with more episodes and coming back in the winter instead of Summer. I have to assume TNT will be launching a new 1 hour drama in this timeslot next summer.

The twist was kind of cool. So Christopher was banging his cousin (on paper)

I've never watched Dallas in any incarnation. But I have watched I Dream of Jeannie.

As such I want to know how Larry Hagman was, because I think of him as an awesome person to have in a cast, and wish he gets to do something good in this new show.

He was solid. Him and Patrick Duffy were the best parts of this new incarnation. He looks really frail though and understandable because of his advanced age and at the time of filming, he was being treated for cancer.
