Surprised there are no comments yet...was everyone watching the Olympics?

Anyway, I thought this was EASILY the best episode to date...the stuff between Larry and Patrick was just great TV. We all know they aren't going to kill off Bobby (been there, done that!), but it will be interesting to see what (if any) cliffhangers they leave us with next week.

I've enjoyed this reboot pretty well so far. This episode was probably the best of the season if you ask me. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with Bobby next week and also to see if Rebecca actually shot Tommy or what exactly happened in that scene. Rebecca's character annoys me and I don't understand why she doesn't just come fully clean with Christoper when she's risking losing him all over again when he finds out the truth between her and Tommy.

I also think it could be interesting to see how the story develops with Christoper and John Ross as partners. Truthfully the constant rivalry was getting a bit much even though I do get that's a big part of what made the original so good was the rivalry between J.R. and Bobby, but it just felt like a retread with these two and it's felt forced a lot of times just to try and capture that from the original show.

Wow. I thought this was easily the worst episode of the season. I thought Duffy overacted in some parts, especially when he said he'd sit Christopher's ass down. Give me a break. And yes, we all knew he wasn't going to die, so why go down that road again? J.R. handing Southfork back to Bobby, and Christopher and John Ross going into business together both seemed to undo everything we'd seen up to this episode. All that fighting was for nothing. J.R. finally gets the ranch and he just gives it back? I don't like J.R. becoming a softie. I agree about Rebecca: why is she still hiding stuff from Christopher? Does anyone else think Cliff Barnes is the one getting off that plane they showed in the previews? And that he's Tommy's buyer?

Interesting to tie the scam to Cliff.

So far I'm enjoying this show and Hagman was great when interacting with Duffy.

You make good points, except for one thing...JR would TOTALLY give Southfork back to his brother if he thought it was affecting his health. JR loves wheelin' and dealin' (even against his brother), but deep down he loves Bobby more...this was shown in the past, and the writers NAILED that scene...that was totally JR, even the "if you die I get it back" line...which was his way of saying "I love you too." That was a great scene.

JR was always raised to value his family really above all us. He just has to wait till the worst situations occur to remind himself of it and actually act accordingly.

.
The same strength of the veterans and weakness of the younger actors. I really enjoyed hearing Johnny Cash.
