I doubt anyone thinks Tara is a goner this time either, but I wonder if Pam will save her from herself or what.
What was Hoyt's angle last week? Somehow trying to make Jessica jealous?
I also wonder where they're going with Jason this season. He started out the series so shallow, but he's actually become one of the most developed (character-wise ) players in the show. He's finally growing up and realizing he wants more than just cheap sex, but his current crush (Jessica) doesn't want any commitments.

Ep. was mostly filler, though I when they got rid of the kid. I knew it would be him, as the actors that age typically aren't anything more than annoying and child labor laws meant he couldn't work the same hours as everyone else.
I think the storyline of Terry and his brother is completely superfluous and I am surprised they spent so much time and seemingly production $$ on such a flashback.

Drunk Sookie is so much better than sober Sookie. They should keep her llquored up.
I am starting to like vampire Tara a bit. Maybe it is her proxmity to my much adored Pam? Either that or I just have a thing for vampires. At any rate, now that Tara is the undead I am not wishing her dead anymore. We will see if that holds up.
It was a really fun episode, save Eric releasing Pam.
This is some weak shit!

I've got to agree that I'm mellowing on Tara.
My distaste for her has been at a 10/10 for the last few seasons... it's still there, but it's at about a 3/10 now.

Episode was kind of all over the place.
One good thing though, I loved the song played at the fairy refuge. Turned me on to these guys with a little research - interesting band:

I've found ways to enjoy every season, but the deeper we get into the run of the show, the less and less I seem to be caring about another season where "too much is going on" and the "episode was all over the place."

This episode was complete trash and left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Too much shit going on and none of it is developed enough and too much useless crap going on as well. The show is turning into a soap opera and going down the drain fast.... extremely said, but I have to admit that I'm no longer looking forward to watching it every Sunday....

I actually think this season is starting strong. A lot of character changing events to shake things up helps me think that important things are happening. Yes, there's a lot going on, but it only makes sense that the same group of characters would not remain a tight knit unit year after year. Stories were bound to start branching.

When Tara's would-be lunch showed up I was trying to think of where I saw her before, then when the credits rolled it hit me: Dante's Peak.

Seriously why the fuck are we supposed care about this Iraq shit? What a waste of Scott Foley. Just kill off half these damn characters. Or not bother showing them.

I have a feeling that the Iraq stuff is going to involve a djinn.
That fires are kind of a giveaway.

Eric and Pam saved this episode for me. Tara is starting to get interesting and Sookie and Alcede were good as well. The Authority just drags things down and the Iraq stuff makes me want to turn the show off and never come back.

Yeh I was hyped to hear them on something as big as True Blood, they are probably the biggest steampunk band around. Good stuff.

A little suprised by some of the reaction...I haven't been a fan of the first few episodes, but I thought last night was the strongest of the season...the scenes between Sookie/Layfayette; Eric/Pam; even Bill/Jessica are EXACTLY what this series has been missing. It's nice to see some character moments for a change.
Not to say it was great - this season still has too much going on and too many uninteresting story threads. But it was the strongest episode so far in Season 5. I still can't believe we've only seen 5 seconds of Denis O'Hare...did he only sign for six episodes or something?

I like how the writers make you sometimes think that they forgot some of the tools they have, then Jessica flies in and glamors Andy about the Pelt case. Ha ha.

I'm actually looking forward to TRUE BLOOD without Alan Ball...I'm hoping for a more streamlined and focused show in Season 6.
