Really looking forward to watching tonight. Is there only two left? Or Three to go?

So so sad about Lane, but I also loved the ending. Also loved Don's pitch to Dow, that was intense. Hamm is having a hell of a season; hope he finally gets his Emmy for this year's work.

Terrible thing with Lane. Man, they're firing on all cylinders this year.

This show really knows how to go for the jugular. The scenes with Lane were almost hard to watch, guessing what was coming. Was hoping it wouldn't happen with the Jag wouldn't start (cue jokes about Jaguar's unreliability). After Don being more subdued when it comes to work this season it was nice to see him go on the offensive to try to make them a top notch firm.

Re: Mad Men -- "Commissions and Fees" -- 6/03/12

Wow, what an episode.

People have been commenting on the suicide foreshadowing all season, but I didn't think it would actually happen. Nor did I expect Lane's embezzlement to catch up with him so quickly.

The whole situation and Don's involvement was definitely shades of Adam from season 2(?). Wonder if that thought crossed Don's mind.

Really good, much better than last week, which I thought was a little heavy handed thematically. This ep was really classic Mad Men.

I'm sorry, what suicide foreshadowing did I miss this season?

Edit : Oh yeah, Pete's insurance policy. Anything else?

I still think they're gonna kill someone with the elevator.

Lane's death was really disturbing. I thought he may have had a change of heart after the Jaguar..I guess not.

I was convinced the whole embezzlement thing was a vehicle for Jared Harris to be gone from the show but I didn't think it would happen this quickly before the finale. There must have been reasons outside the story for this because it just didn't feel like it was part of the plan.

Mother of pearl. They've really shaken the show at its foundation with the past two episodes. Bloody brilliant.

I had to stop and take a break during the Lane and Don talk, never done that before, almost did in the last few eps of The Shield.

Wow, what a sad departure. I really liked Lane.

I thought he was eyeing the window a couple of times and could become the 'falling body.'

No Lane and possibly no Peggy next season will leave a pretty big hole, although Lane was absent for a number of episodes this season, as well.

Good call, Nausicaa, about Don's brother. I had forgotten about that.

Re: Mad Men -- "Commissions and Fees" -- 6/03/12

This was a really great episode.

I chuckled when the Jaguar wouldn't start for Lane. I thought that that was his feeble attempt and he would suck it up and move on. Definitely didn't think he'd try again. When Scarlett(?) said to Joan that Lane's office door was locked I knew he'd gone through with it.

I'm sad to see Lane go. You could tell that Don took a really big hit with what happened.

I love this show.

Well there was Don almost stepping into the empty elevator shaft. And there was the "Dark Shadows" episode, which was full of portents of death. It was pretty clear after "Dark Shadows" that someone was going to die this season.

Also, from the previews,

Spoiler:
Is Glen making obscene phone calls to Megan?

I believe Pete mentions that the insurance policy does cover suicide.

I can't believe they actually panned down to Sally's panties!

Although I can't wait for the season finale, it has gone by too fast.

Yes, he is. And I was kind enough not to show up Jack Straw by telling him to look in the first post.

I know Don wanted to avoid the embarrassment of everyone knowing Pryce took the money, but did he have the authority to fire Pryce? Or if Pryce refused to resign would there be a Partners' vote or something?

Then he would have told everyone, they would have fired him, and they could have had him arrested if they wanted. I doubt they would have gone down that road though because it would seriously hurt the firm's reputation.

Did I miss something, or did Lane not come fully clean? The bonus that he deserved and kept referencing was a "surplus" actually brought on by tapping the agency's credit line for an actual $50k. So they are still sitting on about $42k in "cash" that they don't really have.
