Nice scene with Cersei and Tommen, lost of foreshadowing, and did a lot of humanize the queen. Was that Leonard Cohen singing over the credits? Sounded like him.

Yes it is the very same

That was The National doing 'The Rains of Castamere' in the credits.

Cool story bro!

Meanwhile...

Just getting an early jump since I'm sure sometime over the next 4 pages you yet again won't be able to help yourself. Fuck, you already couldn't twice on the first page alone.

Oh...and....AWESOME EPISODE!

Blackwater was intense! They certainly made the most of their budget. I really liked how narrow the focus was in this ep -- no visits to Qarth, Winterfell, or Jon Snow's emo trek in the North.

That was pretty damned awesome. Loved the hound getting freaked out by the fire.

Re: Game Of Thrones - "Blackwater" - 5/27/12

That was a pretty great episode, but the end was a bit abrupt for my tastes:

Tyrion's forces are getting overwhelmed -> suddenly Stannis's troops are running away -> oh, hey, here's Tywin.

It almost felt like they ran out of time and just had to cram a bunch of stuff in right at the end. That minor quibble aside, it was quite an enjoyable hour of television.

Spoiler:
It's never confirmed in the books who ordered it, but Tyrion believes it was Cersei

...which mirrored the book since I believe several consecutive chapters were devoted to the battle on the Blackwater.

And to anyone who thinks that comment needs a 'spoiler', my response would be a loose paraphrase of the Hound's reaction when ordered back into battle.

It's inexplicable (IMHO) why they wouldn't have submitted this episode for award consideration instead of the first two unless they were still editing this episode & had a deadline to meet for submission.

Maybe he scares her and she doesnt trust him. She feels safer playing her role with the Lanisters and if Stanis wins then she feels he wouldn't hurt her. The fact is we don't know if she goes with him or not from what we saw.

I agree this was the best episode of the series...and I loved how they focused on just this battle and none of the other plots/subplots. I never thought I'd be rooting for the Lannisters, but that's what happened.

I'm going to need a screencap of the wildfire explosion for my Facebook cover photo! I pray to the Old Gods and the New (and the Lord of Light too!) for an obliging soul.

I liked Stannis, he was a total badass for being the first one on the beach and then again first one up the ladder.

You missed the part where Lannister/Tyrell cavalry tore through Stannis' infantry.
