To be fair, 35% of the books are devoted to describing meals, so they get a huge head start.

Was there any particular significance to the girl on the battlefield from volantis that robb was talking to? I don't recall that in the book.

How often does this show introduce throw-away characters? Just wait. this isn't the book so anything anyone says would just be speculation or likely founded in book spoilers that may or may not relate.

Also, what makes you think she's telling the truth?

When was he in tonight's episode?

Is the mountain the hound's brother?

Yes and the reason why The Hound is burned.

I didn't even notice that the character was there. I knew he was recast, but I guess it was lost on me tonight.

At first I though Joffrey would settle in, quiet down, and watch the two whores get it on, but when he told one to hit the other, I was like, oh crap someone's getting hurt. Sick little bastard.

Why didn't Blondie want to show off the dragons? That was a nice speech though about what would happen once they're full grown.

What is the name of Tyrion's chief of the guards? They make a good duo.

She's protecting her dragons.

Bronn is his name. Sellsword that fought for him in Lysa Arryn's court back in season one.

exactly. Not that they had a choice since the first guy couldn't work this season due to other shows, but he stuck out way more (as he is supposed to)

The ending.

Not reading the book, all I can say is what?

could they be skipping his trip away and bringing the girl to him for the show? They were cagey with her giving her name, so she could still be highborn

Spoiler:
has to be, she tended his injuries in the book, same thing as she was doing here. It was just the volantis part that threw me, that came out of nowhere. Part of me wonders if the producers/writers have gotten more of the endgame from GRRM, so they are developing the characters a little differently based on where they are going to end up, rather than how they are currently after the latest book.

she could be the writer's exposition on the heavy cost of war on the every day people when lords play the game of thrones. Or
Spoiler:
she could be Jeyne Westerling

BTW, I deleted my post, so your quote is a testament to my fear of getting bashed by the book readers who know more than I do!

I loved the opening credits showing Harrenhal and how it did not have any pop-ups or moving gears to show that it is a dead, creepy castle. Not sure why Pyke was shown though when we didn't visit there this episode. Same goes for Winterfell and The Wall (which technically hasn't been seen at all this season by any of the characters). I wonder why they're not showing Storm's End in the credits?

Speaking of the opening credits, I thought it was pretty cool that they included the comet during one of the transitions from place to place.

The transition from The Wall to Qarth? I'm pretty sure that was the sun/astrolabe.

As a non-book reader, I can't seem to figure out what my opinion is watching some shadow monster come out of a chick's vag.

You need to see the shadow monster's purpose to make sense out of it. In a way.
