Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) set off together to make sure Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) is safe in Denver, and to see if his special abilities can help reveal the information they need about ancient vampire bloodlines. It doesn't take them long to learn that Jeremy has been hanging with the wrong people. Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) both go to brutal extremes in their search for the missing weapon. Caroline (Candice Accola) is thrilled when Tyler (Michael Trevino) returns to town, but Tyler soon suspects that something has been going on between Caroline and Klaus. Matt (Zach Roerig) has his hands full trying to keep Rebecca (Claire Holt) busy organizing the school's upcoming 1920s Decade Dance. Chris Grismer directed the episode written by Brian Young and Evan Bleiweiss (#319).

Alaric getting killed yet again. That guy cannot great a break. Evil Alaric vs Stefan vs kind of cool.

I'm glad that they are going more into pairing Elena and Damon together. I'm so over the whole Elena and Stefan thing. If you read Nina Dobrev's Facebook page, she and Ian are definitely a couple. She posted some pictures of them together at Coachella last week.

Interesting reveal at the end that Esther passed on her lifeforce inside Rebecca.

Nice little cameo by Lauren Cohan (Rose) even though her character is dead. The Walking Dead and Vampire Diaries both film in Atlanta, so I assume it was pretty easy to get her to do this part again.

That scene with Elena's kiss to Damon was the campiest-directed scene they've ever had on Vampire Diaries. It was like something you might see from an 80s music video. Also Rose's breakdown of the love triangle felt more like a monologue to the audience with the flowery language. I firmly agree with the direction the writers are going in, just not the execution in this particular episode.
