The Simpsons -- "Beware My Cheating Bart" -- 04/15/12

"Beware My Cheating Bart"
Spoiler:
When Bart is forced to chaperone Jimbo's girlfriend to a movie, she ends up developing feelings for him, resulting in a whole bunch of trouble with the bullies at school. Meanwhile, Homer is persuaded to buy a state-of-the-art treadmill, fully equipped with a television. When Lisa shows Homer that he can access television shows wirelessly, he develops an obsession with watching an old television show from the treadmill, but not actually working out, until Marge decides to intervene.

Homer with his clues journal for Stranded made me remember that Groucho always joked about that in the Lost threads.

This was the funniest ep in a long long time.

The mini movie parody of Midnight Cowboy when Miljouse did the thing with the f.you arm bend and hand in the crease.
What is that called anyway.

Homer's clue notebook is positive proof that at least one Simpsons writer reads DVDTalk.

That montage was great. Skinner waiting on the bench, Underage Night at Moe's.

We even got a brief little Fry and Leela cameo at the end.

I don't know about anyone else, but if my first view of boobs prompted me to think of my father, I don't think I'd have much interest in seeing more.

The Lost spoof was very funny as a B story to the main story of Bart and the girl. How standards have changed, that girl flashing Bart twenty years ago on network television would have created a firestorm. In today's world of Family Guy and South Park it barely registers.

I liked it though it was odd to do a lost parody 2 years after it ended. Still, despite what the haters say, I still find new episodes ofthe Simpsons very funny.

I agree that in the past - there would have been news stories "cartoon boy subjected sexual advances" or "Simpsons have gone too far"

I was proud of bart seeing his first tittie

After 500+ episodes, The Simpsons storylines sometimes reach back years for plots, but I liked how they set this one up. Someone who didn't watch the show live and is picking it up years later when everyone knows the ending (whether they loved it or hated it). I liked Homer down in the empty basement with the DVDs watching on a small TV and Marge spoiling the whole thing for him.

And, as someone else pointed out, loved seeing Fry and Leela....can't wait for June to see more new Futurama.
