Re: The GENERAL HOSPITAL Discussion Thread

Leslie Charleson unfortunately hasn't been on the show for maybe a couple years because of her health but her presence was always there from the other characters always mentioning her.

As far as the show goes as usual we are about 3 months behind live on the show but I am aware of some unusual things going on with important characters being killed off and recast.

One thing we have seen is the terrible writing for Drew Cainniw Quartermane. They have pretty much turned him into a predator amd sexual harasser of Willow and it stinks.

Also I guess they can only have one male lawyer on since they appear to have disappeared Kin Shriner's Scotty Baldwin right when they brought back Rick Lansing.

It sickens me on how bad the current Drew is on the show. He's a complete opposite of Drew when he was played by the late, great Billy Miller. They should have never let Miller go.

Did anyone catch yesterday's episode? I won't spoil it, but if you are a long time GH fan, it is a must-see event.

I’ll probably see it in about 2 months

Are you talking about
Spoiler:
Jason siding with Tracy instead of Sonny?

Meh.

Meh.

Yes.
Spoiler:
It's the first time I can remember him siding with family instead of being Sonny's lap dog.

Re: The GENERAL HOSPITAL Discussion Thread

As usual I am many moths behind and have just gotten to the Christmas portion of the show for '24

Also up to when Willow became a moron and Drew even more reprehensible then before.
They Had an affair maybe after kissing a few times and now Nina and Drew are manipulating willow into leaving Michael and taking the kids.
Wiley isn't even her biological child she is Michael's

One of the show runners must really hate woman because they are all written to be the dumbest people on tv.
Even with Sasha. They really hate her and now they turned Cody out to be her cousin so her and his relationship as first cousins is more dumb and dumber.

One other thing that I think we saw, there was a quick shot of what looked like Sam, still alive in a hospital bed somewhere

Re: The GENERAL HOSPITAL Discussion Thread

I despise Drew and Willow. She has to be the most gullible person in soap opera history. I understand the actor who plays Michael needed a break, but they really need to recast the character until he wants to come back, or he tells them he's done.

Is that related to when Michael caught fire and was burned?
We just watched that ep. It's where we are in the show

Yes, Micheal is in Germany to recover from the burns he received in the explosion in Sonny's apartment. All the while Drew and Willow have moved in together with Michael's kids. It's a crying shame how GH has destroyed Billy Miller's Drew character. People are so sick of these two, yet we keep having them shoved down our throats.

Much like *ahem* Sonny and Carly.

I just wish they'd bring back Jerry Jacks! My favorite villain since I started watching the show (back in 2005-ish). But I know Sebastian Roché has moved on from the soap world. Good for him. I do like Sidwell however.

I like that the WSB has become a bigger thing lately.

Denise Alexander, aka Lesley Webber on General Hospital

Apparently she passed in March but the family waited for privacy

I've read that they haven't acknowledged Leslie Charleson's death yet on the show

Sonny Corinthos 05-12-25 09:45 AM

Re: The GENERAL HOSPITAL Discussion Thread

I remember Alexander very well from watching GH with my grandmother when I was growing up. It's going to be very sad when they do get to Charleson's death on the show. I hope they do right by her and give her a huge farewell. She meant so much to the show.

I have always been a huge fan of the WSB, but having
Josslyn become an agent is beyond silly. There's no way that spoiled little pussycat is tough enough to become an agent of the WSB.

So we are up to when Cyrus confronts Elizabeth in her home so I'm guessing it won't be much longer until he is killed.
Seeing the preview I'm guessing something happens at his bungalow since Carli Jr (Joss) broke into his place again and has Dex's gun.

Plus some sad news to GH friends and family Chris Robinson who was Rick Weber has died. He was 86

Tristan Rogers, ‘General Hospital’ Actor, Dies at 79
By Giana Levy, Kate Aurthur
Aug 15, 2025 4:05pm PT

Tristan Rogers, who starred as Robert Scorpio on “General Hospital,” has died of lung cancer. He was 79.

Roger’s longtime manager, Meryl Soodak, confirmed the actor died Friday morning to ABC 7 Eyewitness News, and said he had never been a smoker.

Soodak told the outlet that Rogers’ portrayal of Scorpio in the soap opera “meant everything to him.” She added, “He loved being Scorpio, and he created that role from nothing. He was supposed to work a day, and he ended up making it into something huge. He was just a genuinely loyal, kind human being, and he loved his family.”

Following the news of his death, “General Hospital” showrunner Frank Valentini shared a statement with Variety.

“The entire General Hospital family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers’ passing. Tristan has captivated our fans for 45 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio). I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time. Tristan was a one-of-a-kind talent and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.”

As the impossibly suave, cool, sarcastic spy Robert Scorpio, in the early 1980s (he joined the show in December 1980), Rogers was a key member of the “General Hospital” acting ensemble — alongside “supercouple” Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis) — that propelled daytime drama into the pop culture stratosphere. That era reached its peak on Nov. 17, 1981, when Luke and Laura married (Scorpio was Luke’s best man), Elizabeth Taylor guest-starred as the villainous Helena Cassadine — and the show drew an audience of 30 million viewers.

Re: The GENERAL HOSPITAL Discussion Thread

Robert Scorpio was one of the best daytime characters of all time. Nearly as iconic as Luke Spencer himself.

I think currently they have at least 2 maybe 3 icons that have passed which haven't even been acknowledged on the show yet.

How recent tho? They film way in advance and bank episodes like game shows do.

I can check back in this thread.
Monica died last year and I haven't seen that yet
Lesley early this year.
Rick Weber but they killed his character off decades ago so that won't get anything and now Tristan

Monica's death will be addressed this fall. Rumor has it Erika Slezak of One Life to Live will be playing Monica's long-lost sister.

This one really hurts. The adventures he had in 80's and 90's are still classics to me. As a teen, there was no one cooler than Robert Scorpio and Luke Spencer. I wish there was a way to watch those classic episodes. Luke, Laura and Robert on Cassadine Island was must see TV back in the day.

Re: The GENERAL HOSPITAL Discussion Thread

Robert Scorpio was essentially the James Bond of Daytime TV in the 80s and 90s. They just don't do soaps anymore the way they did when Tristan Rogers was in his prime.
