Well that was a pretty heavy episode.

I thought for sure Monica was gonna shoot herself with Carl's gun.

Will they really let that many people in a delivery room including kids

Have we seen this brother before? I only remember the one that was played by Bill Macy.

Yes. He's the father of Ian.

OK, I remember that now. They should have reminded us of that somehow. Frank should have used that as a reason to get money from his brother.

I remember it now that you bring it up but I too had forgotten how bad Lip felt to learn that he was Frank's unlike Ian.

Re: Shameless -- "Just Like the Pilgrims Intended" -- 3/25/12

Frank did use that as a reason to get money from that particular brother, but the reason was implied. That's why he took Monica over there to seduce the brother that had had an affair with her earlier.

Re: Shameless -- "Just Like the Pilgrims Intended" -- 3/25/12

Right, I was thinking more along the lines of Frank saying that he had been supporting Ian all these years when he isn't really his son and that his brother should give Frank money to pay Frank back.

Showing Karen giving birth and the baby crowning was not nudity I was hoping for. ;)

I doubt a chick like Karen would be that hairy :)

This episode masterfully balanced the hilarious and the serious.

Did anything happen after the credits? My DVR cut it off.

My thoughts exactly when that scene aired.

Hey, I think a lot of women stop caring about such things when they're that pregnant.

That sure was a quick pregnancy. I believe the season opener was supposed to take place in August. So she was already 5-6 months pregnant at that time? I don't remember when they had her start to show.

Allowing all those people in the delivery room was ridiculous. Not only did they allow it, it seemed they encouraged it.

I guess we'll have a storyline down the road where they reveal Fiona has early onset alzheimer's, as she keeps forgetting that Monica and Frank keep screwing her over.

I forgot to mention last week, but was reminded in the recap this week, that Fiona was worried about Frank knocking Monica up. Chloe Webb is 56 and her character looks it - she ain't getting pregnant.

Since Fiona, the oldest Gallagher child, is in her early 20s, I'm guessing that Monica is supposed to be a bad 40. Six kids, mental illness, a drug problem... she's going to look twenty years older than she is.

This is what I was thinking. I'm almost certain I remember them mentioning somewhere that Monica was 20 years old when she had Fiona.

Was anyone else really disturbed by the delievery? Not the graphic nature of it, but the reactions to the fact that the baby was born with downs syndrome. I really thought they were going to touch up on that a little more. Although the scene with Joan Cusack and Jody stealing the baby was hilarious.

I had the same thought.

Hilarious that they were all in the delivery room.

Yeah, that seemed very odd. I thought it would be some big deformity like the baby being born with its heart on the outside. Is Down's that obvious in a newborn that everyone would know immediately?

Wait, so the baby really had Downs? I was under the impression that they thought it had Downs until they realized the baby was Chinese.

He had downs. I was confused by it too but the adopting family walking out the way they did kind of confirmed it.

No, it definitely has Down's.

Exactly. I was confused, but this is where I realized it must be both. I couldn't see the family crying and walking away just because he was asian. But then again I could be wrong. Plus the fact that the baby has downs means that Joan Cusack's character will now have someone that will always need her, someone who won't grow up and leave.
