quarles has a new gimp.

Quarles is a bit off his game now. Last 3 weeks should prove interesting.

Wonder how many folks will be around next year. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if it was everyone but Quarles, though I definitely wouldn't mind it if he were back in season 4.

I'd guess everyone but quarles, somehow dickie bennett will escape boyd for at least 3 episodes. wynn duffy always seems to get away clean too.

Wow, Quarles is totally nuts. Even Duffy is realizing that now.

Other than being totally scared of him, why does Duffy continue to support Quarles? Maybe he and Raylan will join forces to take him down.

Because Duffy is terrified of him. In every scene he had the look of a guy who knew he was in way over his head and just trying not to catch a bullet.

I don't see raylan and duffy working together, he is a criminal and raylan hates him. He tolerates boyd because they were friends at some point, and boyd does have a twisted, but generally pointing north moral compass. Besides duffy backed this horse, he doesn't really have any other option at the moment.

I think Raylan will accept anyone as an ally if it gets the larger bad guy. It was very apparent that Wynn is afraid of Quarles at this point. He is becoming more and more unhinged each time we see him.

Didn't we all know that Quarles was going to set the young man free?

Best episode of the season. Everyone was on fire.

while they spoiled that scene in the bar in the preview last week, it was still fucking awesome.

The bullet hole outside Raylan's bedroom after the bar scene was pretty funny.

That's not the nudity I was hoping to see.

I think it's pretty obvious Quarles is gonna get whacked by Raylan. Cool to see his downward spiral. I hope Quarles murders that stupid kid, too. Hated him on True Blood and I hate him here.

I like how Raylan basically said fuck it, let him go I'll just kill him next time at Dickie's hearing.

Yikes. Quarles somehow managed to become even more deranged this episode. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even make it to the season finale - the guy's gone off the deep end. Great stuff by Neal McDonough, that was perfect casting.

The look on Wynn Duffy's face during the Quarles monologue was just tremendous and that character is just tremendously well acted (of course you could say that about most of the characters on the show) .... I hope and assume he survives the season.

I know it's not Raylan's style, but couldn't he just have had Quarles arrested at the bar for threatening to kill a federal officer? He even had a witness with the waitress. Given that Quarles already has a record, it seems like he would go away for a while for that.

It does seem on F/X (and TNT), man-ass is more allowable/acceptable than female nudity.

I really hope while filming this season they realized how awesome Quarles is and keep him around. I want to see Raylan gun him down...just not yet.

This is what seems to be cooking to me:

Quarles and Duffy are goners. Quarles is going to go in a way that is somewhat unexpected (I don't see it being his gun jamming on him and Raylan killing him).

Dicky survives and a large part of season four is going to be whether it's Limehouse, Boyd, Ava, Arlo, or Raylan who puts a bullet in his head. That can't be all of it, though.

I think the outcome of this Sheriff thing is going to have a much bigger impact on season 4 than it may seem, too.

ETA: Back to this episode, the ultrasound was a really nice character touch. It's what a show like Sons of Anarchy would miss out on. I appreciate that.
