FOX can make MORE money if they cancel The Simpsons. All current syndication deals, which are with broadcast stations only, end when the show ends production. Then FOX can make huge news deals, including with cable channels, and it's all pure profit. They could even create a Simpsons channel.

I think THE SIMPSONS handles age and modern technology brilliantly. No one ever ages (chronologically) yet everyone gets to experience all the latest gadgets (iPods, etc...) as they are released each year. Of course, we occasionally see future, older versions of various family members. No way will they ever age permanently.

They seem to be retconning the show as time goes by. I don't think Homer and Marge graduated high school in the 1970s anymore.

Nor did the B-Sharps beat out Dexy's Midnight Runners when Lisa was a toddler.

I haven't watched the Simpsons in close to a decade. I used to love it but when it started to suck I bailed. I'll watch the finale though whenever that is.

I think it's cool that they don't age. They have to keep adjusting the characters birthdates. Homer is always 39 years old. Now he was born in 1973. When the show started he ws born in the 50's. When they do flashbacks they've changed the years and what was happening. Like at the start of the show when Homer and Marge were in high school, Homer would listen to Led Zeppelin and stuff. Since right now he was born in 1973 he was listening to 90's stuff. I believe I remember a flashback episode not that long ago where a young Homer invented the "grunge" style of music. It's crazy to think that if the simpsons somehow stays on the air for aother 10 years homer will be the same age as me and when it started Bart was the same age as me.
