Can't wait to see this. It was regarded as the best reviewed Pilot of the season. Good night for the Pilot to premiere. CBS and ABC are in repeats.

It was well worth the wait. The pilot was excellent.

Been anxiously anticipating this. If it is good, NBC will have finally succeeded in roping me in for their entire prime time line-up for at least ONE night - it has been a LOOOOOOONG time since I've been able to say THAT (maybe back in 2007 when Monday was Chuck, Heroes and Journeyman?).

I haven't watched the pilot yet, but feel like I've already seen it given how many times I've seen the preview.

This was entertaining, but I don't get how they'll stretch the concept for multiple seasons without it being a parallel universe. If it's just a serial cop drama with one savant-type getting answers from somewhere else, there's a bunch of those already on.
The cast and sets are good, though. At least there weren't soap opera emotions and obvious sound stage sets.

I remember reading a synopsis for this a while back and thinking how stupid it sounded. I was going to pass but with all the praise I'll check it out. Hopefully it's not another procedural though.

Didn't see the trailer but the synopsis makes it sound like it's exactly that. I don't know why but I just can't stick with procedural, even if I like the episodes I saw... maybe this will buck the trend.

It's a procedural for sure, but they do give it a unique twist involving the two different realities.

So excited about this! I really hope it's as good as I hope. I've been eager to watch this since the trailer hit last May.

It's really that good. Read all the reviews online, or in the previous threads. Fans and critics agree.
With all the praise I'm interested now in watching Lone Star, I know that it didn't last too much, only a few episodes (?), does anyone here recommends that show?

Not going to happen. Lone Star was canned after 2 episodes. They shot 6 episodes, but the remaining 4 were never aired.

Watched this tonight and thought it was pretty interesting. But can anyone explain the female shrink's "Constitution theory?" I thought if she started quoting it, then her theory would have made sense. She didn't so it left me confused.
I really don't see how they can stretch the premise out for a full season though.

Basically, if he wasn't conscious (and her reality was a dream), he wouldn't be able to pick up a random book and read the contents of it from memory.

Not my cup of tea in the slightest as I was bored and even confused by the pilot. Wife died and son lived versus son died and wife lived. Was there a 3rd reality shown or hinted at where both of them died in the car crash?
Nevermind. I'm out.

that's the whole hook of the show...
I like the ep more then I thought I would but fear I'm going to get bored with the whole back and forth, 1/2 a case for each ep that sort of bleed over into each other info wise.. I think it's a good idea to go with the red/green rubber bands and color tinting effect to show the world he is in at the time but good reviews aside I can't picture this being a show the gen pop is going to want to watch and try to fallow..
Too high concept and if people get lost as to what is going on, they are not going to tune it.. Then again, it's easy to kick NBC around right now and it would be great for the network if this show was a big hit..

I thought it was fantastic. Well shot, acted with a good script.Best Pilot for this TV season since Homeland's back in October, which coincidentally is also a Howard Gordon production.
My concern though is that NBC's ratings have stunk this season and this show's concept may be a little too sophisticated for their viewers. It's a really ambitious show and IMO it's bringing a fresh new idea to the Police procedural.
I've always liked Jason Isaacs from the films I've seen him in and he did a solid job as Britten. One of the strongest scenes was when Britten woke up without one of the bracelets and couldn't tell which reality he was in and started losing it.
I also have to commend the director of this episode David Slade. Great job shooting it and using the different color pallettes to differentiate the realities. I also like the idea of the 2 different Therapists helping Britten and their different opinions for his conflicting realities.
Obviously I can see some differing opinions about this show. Some will have a problem with it being a procedural and others will wonder what the long-term arc for this show is.
I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with the next 12 weeks. I hope people will reasonate with it. I love Gordon's work as a Writer/Producer from his 24 days and Homeland and NBC needs a hit scripted drama badly.

The Lost writers debunked a popular theory after the pilot and that's essentially what they gave us in the end anyway.
No more listening to writers.

I'm watching this and I'm like "that guy looks an awful lot like Wilmer Valderamma. Oh shit, it is!" No idea he was in this. Great pilot. Loved that the 2 psychiatrists/psychologists had different methods. Also cool that the "cases" are linked in both sides. I'm hooked.

There's a definite "Life on Mars" + "Inception" vibe to this show.
I like how they use reading the Constitution as a test for whether he's dreaming. I've noticed that in my own dreams -- when I have to read something it's just gibberish. Our minds can make up conversations but they can't make up prose. So I fully expected him to try the same test in the other world and of course he never did.
And does anyone else find the lead actor incredibly monotonous and bland? I understand why he would be played this way given his circumstances, but it doesn't exactly make for exciting television.
I'm on the fence with this one and I now see why they waffled about airing it. If "Life on Mars" couldn't survive I doubt that this show, with a very similar yet less interesting premise, will.
