Yes!

The wife and I have watched the entire series, so the show will definitely be missed in our house-hold. We have actually found this season to be quite funny, w/ the new minions on his staff and re-establishing his hijinks w/ Wilson.

Sad to hear the show is ending after one of the best episodes I've seen in years.

I'm nowhere near tired of House, which remains one of my favorite TV shows, but I've read a few interviews with him where he talks about being away from his family and walking with that limp (he actually developed physical problems because of doing that so much). I can't say I like the guy and expect him to keep going through that, so that makes it a little more palatable that the show is ending.

I'm the rare bird that actually liked 13 so when she was on less and less my interest sort of died. I think I bowed out at the very start of season 7.

Other shows that debuted in 2004:

American Dad
Battlestar Galactica
The Biggest Loser
Boston Legal
CSI: NY
Desperate Housewives
Grey's Anatomy
Lost
Medium
Numb3rs
The Office
Veronica Mars

Also, Family Guy would return in January 2005.

That's a pretty good fall lineup of freshman shows.

Very good year.

I think 2011 might be just as good

I thought the show did a great job of rebooting year after year, and I'm bummed to see it go.

I wonder if it will go out with a bang...

Despite what a few of you said, I thought the re-boot in season 4 where everyone quit and House conducted the search for a new team was a fun way to revitalize the show.

It did have it's drawbacks though. Jennifer Morrison, Jesse Spencer and Omar Epps screentime got cut down dramatically. Morrison was literally non-existent in the show for 2 seasons until they wrote her out.

The only thing that could have been handled better with the new team was Kutner's suicide. I was shocked at the time, but it literally came out of nowhere wth no setup.

I liked the search for a new team as well, those were some of the best episodes when he was weeding people down.

Then they should have let one of the various trials to fix his leg work. That he walked with a limp was a good addition I didn't tune in to see him limp. He could have gone all normal and as long as it didn't affect his character it wouldn't have mattered.

Me, I still watch. The wife gave up on it a couple of seasons ago.

Technically, the Battlestar Galactica TV series didn't premiere in the U.S. until January 2005. (It was only in the U.K. that the TV series started showing in 2004 with different opening theme music. And although the miniseries that directly lead to the creation of the TV series played in the the U.S. December 2003, that's not considered the actual TV series.)

Also the U.S. version of The Office didn't premiere until the Spring of 2005.

House right now, even after using the same formula year after year, is still more entertaining than most other shows on network television. Laurie probably demanded some outrageous sum to come back, knowing he wanted out anyway.

Well that still lies on Kal Penn's decision to go work for Obama. I mean the writers could have just had him move away or leave off camera, but they decided to make it have a bit more of an impact. I liked it because it showed that they were willing to take risks.

They did it again later when they killed off Cutthroat Bitch in what is considered by many to be the creative peak of the series.

They better not f**king do that.

Spoiler:
I didn't watch 8 years of house being miserable, to have him just end it all being miserable, that would be depressing of a ending. If they are going to do a ending like that, have it be a american beauty ending..he finally is happy..then gets hit by a bus or something

he misspelled 'rumor' as 'rumer', so I posted a picture of Rumer Willis.

I think 13 was a lot more popular for the many..ahem... male viewers (the bi-sexual aspect doesn't hurt) that they would rather not admit to. She was nice to look at yes, but the character wasn't that bad to me.

The Masters character that temporarily replaced 13 was way more hard to take. It felt like she was extremely judgmental and disagreed just to disagree within every episode. I don't think I ever sided with her view ever (House episodes are easily forgettable though).

Fun show. Nice to have one of those that where you can miss an episode or two and not be completely in the dark.

I liked Thirteen. What I hated was Foreteen.

So glad they ended that because it was terrible!

Re: House to end this May after 8 seasons (2004-2012)

Love the show. Yes, the formula has gotten a little tired but I'm still entertained and I can't say that about many network shows right now.

The only part of the series that always bugged me was the way Kutner offed himself. I realize they had to write Kal Penn out but it was just so ridiculous. A lot of the show had out there moments but this one always bothered me the most.

It's gonna be sad not seeing it on TV after this season. I like Hugh Laurie with an American accent. His film career never really took off here, other than some bit parts in some movies, so I wonder what's next on his plate.

Not surprised ... excellent show, but it is time. I think several posters have misunderstood though - Fox didn't pull the plug. The creators have decided it has run its course.

My prediction: it was all in his mind. House is actually a psyche patient.

That's how I read the OP's article ... guess it all depends on who you believe. Any way you slice it, it is time.
