^^ The characters were introduced in Bones last season.
The only thing you really need to know is the main character Walter Sherman has a brain injury from his time serving in Iraq, which compells him to want to find things and hence the title of the show. He's a quirkier detective.

I saw the first episode and thought seemed a lot like "the Mentalist". I thought it was okay, but I missed the episodes 2 and 3 because I forgot it existed.
