The Office -- "Pool Party" -- 1/19/12

Great episode. Best of the season. Good to see that the Office can still rock it.
Jim has always been an elitist prick. It's just more obvious now that he doesn't have Pam to back him up.
I hope they do. Pam is used up and there is a young hot temp that wants him. No brainer move for Jim.

I wondered about that too. Especially considering they touched on the subject earlier with Meredith offering Erin a ride and Erin suggesting maybe Meredith shouldn't drive, ever.

With Michael's ultra-prick-ness to Toby gone Jim is starting to stand out more.

I think Angela still is. I only remembered seeing her for a few moments and both times, they were hiding her in the pool.

I'm really wondering if the next ep will involve the after effects of Jim being arrested for a DUI.

I think I'm done with this show. Carell was severely missed and with everyone saying best of the season... I see I didn't miss much from last year.

In turn take Ben on Parks and Rec, he also plays the straight guy but he never acted above everyone else. Sure he points out how weird they are but not in a condescending way.

As for this episode... best of the season. First one I didn't miss Michael once.

I've always thought Jim was an asshole. I've never understood why anyone would ever consider promoting him either. He doesn't look the part of a boss. He doesn't act like a boss. And it's fairly well established his not the best salesman on staff. I always love episodes where Dwight pwns him (snowmen episode!).

Yep. I think it was mentioned in the last episode when Dwight was looking for a promotion. Robert California implied he was too valuable as a salesman. Still, I understand madcougars point... Jim isn't management material. But this isn't real life and since Jim has always been the second billed it's obvious that they would play around with the idea of promoting him.

I enjoyed this episode. Wasn't really that funny to me, but I did like the laid back pool party vibe.
I was expecting Robert to say he also bought "Good Burger" for his home theatre room....haha

He's obviously the "straight" guy but he has always acted as if he's better than his co-workers. I wouldn't say I dislike Jim, in the earlier seasons he was my favorite but that's just the way he is.

Sigh...
1) When did I ever say that drunk driving was funny?
2) Did you miss my post here (just a bit above your post) where I suspect this'll be a plot point in an upcoming episode?
The Office has always had a bit of a dramedy vibe to it and I doubt a major network program would treat drunk driving as light hearted comedy fare.

I assumed he was drunk since he downed a bottle of win. I guess it could have been since he finally had his window to bolt out of there.

I would have loved a scene at the end showing Pam's reaction to Jim describing the party!
Seeing how a party with the boss ended up with skinnydipping and god knows what else afterward caused me to do some serious soul searching over how I might react if put in the same situation with my own boss.
Sad to say, I'd probably have ended up with Ryan and Gaby too...

But that reminds me, Jim did lead to one of my favorite moments this season, when he rolled his chair off camera and ran away after Andy tried to tell Robert about Jim's opinion.
