Star Wars Clone Wars was the umbrella name for all the Clone Wars-focused media that came out between the theatrical releases of Episode 2 and Episode 3. This included books, comics, and the 2003-2005 TV series of micro-episodes. The TV series had 2 seasons of episodes.

Star Wars The Clone Wars is the umbrella title for all the most recent Clone Wars stuff, beginning with the 2008 animated movie. This includes the books, comics, and the TV series that picked up after the movie. This series has 4 seasons and counting.

There have been 3 animated projects with the name "Clone Wars". The mini-episodes that aired first should be mandatory viewing, they're excellent. The Movie is essentially just a pilot for the currently running animated series. Its pretty bad and I wouldn't recommend it. But it does serve as an introduction to the show and its characters. The series itself is hit or miss. But overall I'd say its worth it. When its good, its really good. If you can wade through the episodes that arent so good.

Do the series follow each other, or do they overlap/tell some of the same stories?

The original mini-eps were suppose to bridge the prequels Episode II and Episode III. The currently airing series takes place during the same time as the mini-eps but it doesn't tell the same stories. Its expanding on what happened during that time.

The micro episode show had episodes 3 minutes long & a few 10 minute episodes. The whole thing can be viewed in under 2 hours. Same animation as Samari Jack.

Other series started with the movie & then has had 4 seasons of 30 minute episodes. There are a lot of multi part episodes (more then single episode stories) It did skip around in the timeline once in a while & have an episode that builds off one from the past season. There have been 2 episodes that tie right into the movie, even though they aired well into the show. I personally like this show a lot.

This, pretty much exactly. The initial micro series was tightly tied into Eps 2 and 3. The CW movie was terrible. I really got into the Cartoon Network series for a couple seasons but dropped it in the third season when it got too C-SPAN-y, but I've heard that it's gotten good again. Might have to give it another try.

It has, the Jedi Krell min-arc from this season is probably as good as anything they have ever done. Dont get me wrong there have been some klunkers along the way. But since episode 7 its been pretty damn good. No Jar Jar, no Naboo, no Senate and no Padme.

The quadruple decapitation a few episodes ago was pretty badass.

Can't believe how much mileage Lucas has gotten out one throw-away line in ANH.
